yes get a fully protected casing e.g. Seidio Surface (i'm using this one it covered the chipping part so your eye can't physically look into it you will feel more happy!)

yes it is automatically detect the timezone....
in my experiences whenever i step into a new country it will show the local timezone as long as i set my timezone is automatic....

I'm using seidio surface... good protection and quite slim for all protected casing IMO.
