Do you dyno with the stock front plastic cover with small hole? Or with it cut to a large opening?
I think that is pretty restrictive for air to pass through.

I think you are referring to the turbulence effect to improve air-fuel mixture? In my opinion, this has more to do with the design of the intake manifold rather than the setup/pipe before air filter. The setup/piping before air filter help to channel sufficient cold air into the intake manifold and with stock air filter design, the swirl/turbulence effect most likely cancelled out after passing through the air filter.
Looking at the stock plastic cover with a few vertical holes to draw air from front bumper, it is pretty restrictive to obtain sufficient air volume. But I don't have the design simulation to prove that it is not enough

So I'm thinking about why not just remove the whole plastic cover at the front instead of cutting bigger hole for air inlet. Reason is very sayang to cut the plastic once cut cannot revert.
Maybe will use OBD2 to monitor the air pressure/temperature to see got any difference or not.
Even I also 99% drive @ 2-3k rpm
