Due to the current gym i am training at closing down (PowerGymFitnessCentre in KD), i have decided to make an organized list of gyms current LYN members go to.

State gym, address, fees and equipment and a small description/your opinion smile.gif

Ill continue to update this post with the gyms listed by you guys. Thanks smile.gif

Ill start

Muscle Gym - Adjacent BHP on 3rd Floor in Damansara Utama (Uptown) - rm65/month, rm10/daily - lots of free weights, squat rack, DBs only go up to ~100lbs, unlimited plates and barbells. limited machines though.
Great gym. Experienced BBers. Large amount of space for a ghetto gym. Friendly people. Recommended.

Flex & Fit - Seksyen 6 Kota Damansara, Beside Subaidah Restoran - rm70/month, rm6/daily (for men) - small gym. rack, DBs go up to 100+lbs, small amount of machines.
Tiny Gym. No experienced BBers the time i was there. Limited Machines. VERY crowded during peak hours. Not worth the price IMO. Look them up on Facebook.

Top Gym - Section 2 Wangsa Maju - rm 65/month, rm4/entry - Lotsa free weights, crowded during peak hours, visit blog for a picture.
(NovusInitium)

Final Gym - Bandar Mahkota Cheras, close to Masterskill college and Aeon Jusco, above a corner lot tyre shop - rm100/month (rm80 for students) - well above average equipment.
DBs up to 135/140lbs, abundance of weight plates. With respect to equipment and weights, I dare say it's better than a majority of commercial gyms, let alone regular ghetto gyms. Downside is it can get very crowded at peak periods, i.e. after 6pm. ( -Dan)

Blitz Gym - Subang Jaya SS15, above 99 Speedmart - rm99/30days, rm8/entry - Equipment are complete with dumbbells up to 100 lbs.
A small gym that are generally for younger people. (Steven_aka_G)

Our Gym - SS2, corner lot gym above Nasi Kandar Pelita and opposite Alliance and McD - RM60 for S.Citizens, RM70 for Studs and RM80 for Adults. Rm15/entry. Equipments are pretty complete, they added more cardio machines recently. Mostly free weights, squat rack available here too and there is a bench with a olympic barbell.
People here are generally weird, super sensitive to plates clashing or any noise. and yeh, everyone here bashes steroid users. (TechnoG)

Alex's Gym - same row as Our Gym, above Babyland, and from what I heard there's a boxing ring, free PT, shower, lockets, treadmills and friendly staff. it gets crowded around 7pm too, iirc it's 25 per entry. bit pricey but hey free PT and advices. it's 430 for 3 months, not sure how much for 6 months, but you do get one month free. For a year it's 1100, with 2 months free. (hanselm)

Cobra Gym - Shah Alam/Kelana Jaya/Mahkota/Alam Dami. Rm90/month and free registration. Open 24/7 and no contract. www.cobragym.com.my (cobragym)

LeanBodiesFitnessCentre - Solaris Dutamas. rm98/month, "no joining fee and no minimum term contract". Open 24/7. 03-64116670 or http://www.leanbodies.com.my/

Top Gym - Section 2 Wangsa Maju.

Refer to this blog (not mine),http://kamalumalu.blogspot.com/2011/04/top-fitness-gym-at-wangsa-maju-kuala.html, for equipments there. Lotsa free weights.

Monthly fee of RM65. RM4 per entry.

Crowded on peak hours. I've been going about 8-9pm recently, not very crowded. Opens 10-12pm, 3-11pm. For fasting month, it's open only from 3pm-12am.

exactly, its absolutely amazing if you're serious about BBing. The owner was an ex-top level BBer in Asia. Super friendly and knowledgable. He'll even ask you to go to the dark side if he thinks you have what it takes smile.gif Great gym overall really.

edit: my only real problem with that gym is that their mindset is very old school with everything related to BB.

hahha yeah, I know there is this dude where everyone hates him and always complaints to the trainer.
this is one of the gyms that there is actually no puffing huffing sound or people deadlifting without slamming to the floor.

I've been training here for around one and a half year already. Really? idk, maybe I could have got that price wrong.

Yup, I'm actually interested with Alex's Gym. no harm going for a change in enviroment aite? tongue.gif hows the student pricing per month anyway?
no shower or boxing ring in Our Gym, but there is a trainer that you could ask some questions tho..

Blitz gym doesn't allow dropping of weights too. As it's a shoplot gym with students staying around the area, it might cause some troubles apparently.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the people who go to Blitz are really one kind. Lol. Asked a guy out of courtesy to share the smith machine once, and he asked me to wait. I asked him how long, and he said 4 more sets. doh.gif

Anyhow, even the slightest drop of weights there causes the whole place to vibrate. It's an alright gym though if you go non-peak hours.

Haha. I get what you mean. In the afternoon, it's rather empty or basically filled up with beginners. The boss doesn't mind minor vibrations just not the type like releasing a barbell at the top of a deadlift or dropping a dumbbell at bench level.
