QUOTE For those wondering how G-Sync works: With regular gaming without V-Sync, if your monitor refreshes at 60hz (60 times per second) and your GPU is drawing, for example, 80FPS, your monitor could be in the middle of drawing a frame when a new one comes from the GPU. This causes half of the screen to display the first frame and the other half to display the second one. With V-Sync enabled, if a frame is finished by the GPU before the monitor is done refreshing, it gets discarded. This usually eliminates screen tearing pretty effectively, but it has the side effect of introducing some wicked input lag if it isn't implemented well. G-sync actually seems pretty cool. It allows the refresh rate to be variable in the monitor. That means if your GPU is drawing 50FPS, your monitor will refresh at 50hz, eliminating the possibility that a frame will come in before the monitor is done refreshing. |

QUOTE(law1777 @ Oct 21 2013, 11:49 AM) hmm just finished watching what linus talked about g-sync. the main target for g-sync is all about 'you dont have to spend very much to get the highest end graphics card, a decent card with decent fps can work well/smooth enough with g-sync certified monitors' If it's true I rather big a high end card cod tone down settings to make it smoothmeaning nvidia will somehow give up making very high-end performance cards? since they always cannot produce alot of them to sell and often lose money and jack up the prices to cover their loss. when g-sync is out in the market they would only need to make ok ok cards.. |

QUOTE(Desprado @ Nov 18 2013, 11:57 AM) Can u tell what did i say wrong or i am blind.Did AMD show Mantle performance in Public answer is no because they also dont now how much performance gain it will be if they were ready than we would have seen results by now. If Mantle is not good why many game developers request for it?Even i posted dev remarks in my post but u guys are posting all false claims all on Nvidia section why go to AMD section discuss there. |

QUOTE(Desprado @ Nov 19 2013, 09:41 AM) Can u tell which Dev request for it? Even AMD is paying DICE 8 millions to use Mantle. Now were are that Dev which requested i dont see them anywhere. QUOTE Some of you may have seen that we announced our intention to support AMD’s Mantle with Star Citizen. We didn't do this because AMD sends us lots of high cards (although that doesn’t hurt). We are doing this because it increases the ability of a PC to get the most out of its incredibly powerful hardware. Going to the hardware without an huge inefficient API like DirectX allows us to radically increase the number of draw calls in a frame https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/d...s4-and-consoles QUOTE Game developers requested Mantle themselves. That's the key difference. The industry told us they want it. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-am...are,3672-4.htmlA. Johan from DICE sat across the table from Matt Skynner, the GM of our graphics business, and explained how he wanted a close-to-metal graphics API. Matt said "we can do that," and the rest was history. Other devs are very excited when they learn about what Mantle is capable of, and how Mantle can help them bring their game to life on the PC. |

QUOTE(Desprado @ Nov 19 2013, 09:55 AM) I dont see so many Dev as i said all are AMD partner and tell any Dev which not AMD partner and Pftt, already post the source you still claim it as falseEven AMD is paying DICE 8 millions to use Mantle. Now were are that Dev which requested i dont see them anywhere. I swear i am senior member of Anandtech if u posted this post there u were banned in 3 mins because of false data. Bro right now AMD has only 4 dev (AMD partners)which means not many only 4 which is several u can go and check how many developers have joined them. Remember No dev will jump on Mantle until he see his own benefit.AMD do not have the market or majority of PC or GPU.Even AMD HD 5xxx and 6xxx will not work on Mantle. So dev will only work hard for AMD hd 7xxx and R9 which give only 10 to 15% people using mantle and it will bring revolution for that 15% user which kind of rubbish or nonsense. If so many Developers requested then they would have joined and start implementing mantle which not the case so AMD is paying money to Dev to use mantle example is Square Enix and Dice both are partner of AMD and AMD pay them huge. Before u post any other false claims like so many developers search Google learn meaning of many. k fanboy |

QUOTE(sai86 @ Nov 19 2013, 01:25 PM) OT Yes, Mantle is benificial to all game developers and gamers.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « from one of the post in Anand forum on discussing mantle. Not related, but best of all is to stop feeding the troll Since g-sync only require a chip to be embedded in the monitor to get it works (& Geforce card), can this chip somehow been altered to works with AMD gpu as well? juz like Mantle, it can be non-bind to GCN gpu = can be open up to others. or so. how i wish a demo is setup in our shore to see the real difference with our own eyes. Nvidia need to support it |
