I have just bought a new Razer Ferox as they were having sales of it over here. Less than RM80.

Sound quality better than laptop / tablet built in speakers but lack bass and loudness due to the small drivers. No bluetooth either.

Nonetheless, I am carrying it around as I have already bought it.

Speaking of Ferox, anyone letting theirs go for RM100 or below?
*
I won't mind letting go mine at RM100.

My Mamba stop working after 2 years plus with non stressful usage. Mostly for surfing net and Microsoft office type of work.

1st the wireless mode went bad. Signal dropping and etc.

After that, the tracking went haywire even with wired mode.

In the end, I threw it away. The mouse was quite expensive back then as well.

My mamba lasted 6 years then got double click issue. But still keeping it in it's plastic case.

6 years is plenty.

Just my luck with Razer products.

After that, I try not to use Razer products. I have only bought 2 other Razer products thereafter:

1. Razer Serval where the right shoulder button is stuck but still working (less than 2 years)
2. Razer Ferox which I recently bought for around RM100 (good quality sound but lack of bass for my taste)

What is your experience with the Corsair Lapdog?

eg. positive, heavy, not balance / balance etc.

Turret is light and easy on the weight pressure on the legs. Lapdog is heavy as f**k (needs two hands to lift it up) but you're able to use it like how you do on a desk(with wired keyboard, mouse...hell, I can plug in my Sound Blaster X H7 headphones into it too!)

Turret is pretty much the perfect HTPC living room keyboard/mouse combo, they're beautifully made and does not look out of place in a living room. Lapdog makes your living room a mess with thick wires on them, but no compromises on the keyboard/mouse experience. Turret is easily positioned for a comfortable living room usage since it is so light, Lapdog I needed couch cushions under my arms to use it comfortably. Turret has no support cushion underneath , and it does not need one, since it is so light. Lapdog has heavy polyurethane cushion shaped to rest on your thighs, and if you have weirdly shaped thighs (too fat or too thin tongue.gif), they will feel weird until you get used to it, or you will hate it forever. And because of the thigh-shaped cushion on the bottom of the Lapdog, it will never sit flat.

I am seriously considering the following:

1. Corsair Lapdog
2. Roccat Sova (brown switches)

Currently, I am using a laptop tray to use both (which is fine but given the weight, it is sort of sinking into my sofa).

After using mechanical keyboards, I can't go back to membrane / scissor switch type of keyboard, that rules out Razer Turret. Although I have a simple wireless keyboard with membrane switch for really really lazy situation.

The other alternative I have thought of is to get a wireless mechanical keyboard (ie. Filco Minila bluetooth or Filco bluetooth fullsize keyboard) with a wireless Logitech G900 mouse (which I will get to replace my Logitech G700).

Roccat Sova is available now at Gamer's Hideout. But the switches are TTC switches, which I'm not sure how good that is. Because with Sova you're stuck with the keyboard that is with the lapboard, I still think Lapdog is the way to go.
*
Good point, the switches aren't Cherry MX. I will need to test them to decide.

Also, wanted to check with you if I will be able to fit a non-Corsair mechanical full-size keyboard into the Lapdog given that I already have 4 mechanical keyboards (brown switches).

No they wont fit. Unless you mod. In either case, the fit and finish of the Lapdog will be gone.

Noted, thanks.

Razer has bought THX! Looking forward to more kick ass speakers! biggrin.gif

That is an interesting news.

I have always tried to buy speakers with THX certification. This would mean that Razer will exclusively have THX certified speakers only (similar to its Cherry MX green and orange switches for its mechanical keyboards)

razer mako was good, just expensive.
mine is still running strong after 7-8yrs  now... the sub is really something... while the 360 satellite speakers also throw sound quite well.
nowadays my mako has been relegated to my tv for watching movies etc.
*
Sounds durable.

Usually computer speakers generally don't last more than 6 years based on my experience (with various factors).

Successfully perform the mouse wheel surgery with a toothpick  tongue.gif
its basically the same as this vid.
it save you $$ of buying new mouse and i believe the toothpick is much sturdy than the plastic ultra fragile tip of razer.

That is one neat trick.

I think I will need to perform surgery on my Razer Serval gamepad as the left shoulder button is sort of stucked at the moment.

I have done it for my Xbox One controllers and I think Razer Serval gamepad would be very similar to the Xbox One controllers (in terms of the location of the components).

Got this recently. It was meant to be bundled with Lenovo Desktop. Too bad the box got crushed a little.

Is this significantly cheaper than if you were to buy those separately from Razer?
