my Copperhead just died. it has been a reliable companion throughout the donkey-years (i can't remember when i bought it lel) of gaming.

weirdly now i can't bring myself to shell out top dollar for a new gaming mouse... damn too busy with work now so not much time left to play games.

Me and my brother use Kraken Pro and Kraken only. Don't know if it's the same with the E-panda version.
*

so can u tell me what's it like using it for music? is it comfy? does it leak sound to the outside? notworthy.gif

Not really an audio kinda guy. But so far the most satisfying headset I've ever used. Comfortable enough for long use. Can't complain.  smile.gif
*
oh.. thanks for your feedback. now looking forward to its arrival. thumbup.gif

speaking of which... has anyone who checked their order status for the CES Sale gotten anything other than "Order is being processed"?

anyone shipping using priority shipping should get theirs today.. my epanda kraken just arrived!

1st impressions: urgh. too bass heavy for my liking. severly lacking in detail. my 5 year old Creative HQ-1700 trumps it like a kancil left behind by a Bugatti Veyron Supersports.

ADD: but DAYUM it sounds good listening to EDM! wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

but yeah, just EDM. other genres so so only..

hang in there bro, it's coming... thumbup.gif

i dunno about yours, but for mine the price difference between priority & normal shipping was only rm20. so i chose priority..

then again, my package quite light...

True that i got two email from razer one was saying my product was on back order and had to wait abit longer and another one said that all the customer's stuff are being shipped out at the moment. Oh well then guess i gotta wait , mine was about rm 50 for economical due to razer ouroboros they package it in other quite a big box.  Btw did they charge you tax when your item arrival?
*
no, i wasn't taxed at all. if not mistaken, if your item total not exceeding 1k, then it won't be taxed. or is it electronic items not taxed... either those 2 la. but the1st is sure true one.

just want to give a short heads-up after 2 weeks owning the E-panda Kraken.

My Megalodon beats the crap out of it lel.

Summary: If u listen to a wide genre of music; like me (from Korsakov to Dimmu Borgir) this is NOT for you.

These cans are top notch ONLY if you listen to EDM. Even with EQ tweaks it's missing a lot of details. Cymbal crashes, for example.

Out of curiosity, will pairing it with an amp make it sound better?

try turning up the vol more...if still cannot hear those details like cymbal crashes etc...then probably the amp is not going to help.
*
i tried turning the volume up as far as i dare to... but the bass is just too overpowering. drowns out all the highs. sweat.gif

Turning up the volume should not be the solution. Details should be apparent at comfortable listening levels. Unfortunately that headset is not meant for listening to music. Getting a sound card or entry level DAC/AMP helps but it's wasted on the Kraken.

You are better of getting the Shure SRH240/SRH440 for around RM200-350, but you'll need to get seperate mics. You can get a nice one from the US for RM8-10. If you want an attached Mic and better sound you can get the Beyerdynamic ONE Pro. Best gaming headset there is under RM1K range.
*
thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. bought the Kraken just to listen to music; but i have to say it's not quite my cup of tea. currently asking around for a Linearossa W1 *fingers crossed* (so i can pair it with my SE777 as well brows.gif )

i've got a gaming headset already, the Megalodon. very, VERY happy with that one, served without fail since 2009. i don't foresee an upgrade anytime soon.

I just tried to buy from official site http://www.razerzone.com/ap-en/store/razer-ear-cushion

kept showing me payment authorization failed.. I'm guessing its the address, the address field is so small/short, how the heck do I enter my full address 0_o
*
there are 2 lines right (if not mistaken)? if your address long long then have to use the 2nd line. biggrin.gif

ADD: for sure can use separate billing & shipping address, i did that for the CES sale.

TBH the cushions for the Carcharias / Orca / Megalodeon is more comfortable than the Kraken cushions.

I agree sama you kaw kaw punya. thumbup.gif

i think the headsets themselves is very comfy compared to the kraken.

the kraken puts more pressure on the sides of your head (at least for my case la..)

ok, i think i have stumbled into something quite interesting...

i managed to dig out my sansa clip+ that i thought i'd lost some years back, and out of curiosity i plugged in my epanda cans.

it sounded great! using the Jazz EQ, the highs are brighter, the mids clearer, the bass is punchier. in fact, the overpowering bass is suppressed, giving way to the mids & highs to take centre stage. the sound it's producing is much better than when i plugged it into my laptop/pc.

there might still be hope for these pair of cans yet....

so... basically just get a music player with an equalizer? foobar2000 anyone?
*
i think it has more to do with the hardware u use to play your music. for my case, it seems that the epanda is well suited with the clip+ than anything else i have at my disposal (including a Note 2 & an old SE X8)

Hey guys, what's the deal with the Kraken Neon thing? Are those genuine products? I don't see Razer talking about it anywhere at all.
*
obviously fake... if legit, Razer should've listed it in their AP store, no?

need some thoughts from u guys that have it

i have one (albeit the E-panda version), and it's not my cup of tea to be honest.

if you're a basshead listening to techno/EDM 99.9% of the time, it's a perfect match.

else, get something better. nod.gif

See the picture, if fully charged, the LED will have 3 bars. The 3LEDs will just stay there without moving.

It takes very long time for fully charged. By cables, took lesser time compared to dock.
Above 5 hours in my current situation, and the battery life is shorter compared to last time.

Blinking wheel is not a choice to select in synapse...
The blinking wheel may indicate charging, but you still need to see the LED on the left side to confirm it.
Last time, I thought I did charge because I saw it blinking wheel without seeing the LED on left, so I left it overnight. During morning, actually still no battery.

Honestly, this mouse mamba 2012 do have some bugs regarding the charging.
Most of the time, you unplug the cable and battery and put it back will solve it.

Since the battery life become shorter, now I plugged in the cable to mouse and use it.
Still it's a good mouse even in wired version.
*
bro, if i may ask; by last time, do you mean compared to the previous gen Mamba?

and additional, if applicable: how long after your purchase did you notice the battery life is shorter?
