Very dissapointed in this game.

The first thing I realized is that EA has bought the license for this game from PopCap. When EA buys a company, they make sure theyre making money out of it, and that is what you'll get with PvZ2.

Don't be fooled by the free apps. Once you start the first level, you'll soon realize the game is riddled with IAPs. Heck, even the plants from the previous PvZ can only be unlocked via IAP. Everything is IAPs!

The graphic isn't that stellar...pretty much a similar style but with a newer sprite. Gameplay gets dumbed down from six lane to five. Nothing is a challenge except forking out money for the plants and coins required to move further into the game. Granted you can still play without purchasing anything at all, but to collect coins would mean having to re-repeat the same old mission over and over until perhaps you can barely by one premium item in-game.

1/5 star for money milking scheme

Not only that, all the more useful plants from the first game like Stompy, Fire Wood, Frost Peas and Jalapeno Chili are all IAP only where you cannot earn from drops or anyway by gameplay. Each plant cost $3 for it and you have to pay $18 unlock all the IAP only plants.

Then, other plants are unlocked by obtaining certain amount of keys required to unlock it where you get it by random drops. You need stars to advance to other levels, after the game ask you to replay the whole act again to get more stars by completing old levels with new challenges. Very lazy way to make the game longer without making much new content.

Quite like the new graphics, but everything else is a step back. Crazy Dave isnt that funny in the sequel with his ramblings while too many gameplay tweaks like the bucket zombie is a lot tougher and so on which made the game much much harder to play as EA wants to put pain into the users so that they pay up to make the game less painful.

PvZ1 is pretty much a classic by now but PvZ2, IMO, EA just turned a classic to a standard run the mill F2P game that encourage peopel to pay up to make the game easier. Considering how bad has Real Racing 3 has turn out to be, especially with the idiotic Drive system, i doubt PvZ 2 will turn out any better.

There were rumors that the man who made the first PvZ prototype left Popcap last August and he was quite depressed over it. Now, I can see why, as EA turned a classic to a nonsense.

Honest feedback is great! Thank you. Indeed you require lots of effort to really go through without paying. But that's where the fun is!!! You don't want to end a game too fast if there's too much exploits either.

Not when the game is constantly trying to convince you to pay up to make the game easier.

This article points out some of the common tricks to trick people to pay up in F2P games. Aint touching that shit anymore.

I'm all ok if I want to spend some time to see any possible achievements that could be grabbed.

Not when the game is constantly trying to make you to pay up. Some missions are just difficult to the point that you have to grind other missions for money just to play them.
