Do you solely shoot jpeg ?
I shoot with dual systems, but I'm not exactly bothered by the color difference.

some of my works were shot in both systems and when presenting the works, i don't think the colour difference (if any) is obvious. flip through a magazine that contains good photographs... can you tell which camera shoot which photos? flip through a copy of monocle, does the slight colour change is so obvious that you thought to yourself 'hmm, if only that photographer used a nikon system to do that series'...

anyway, i am using both system and my higher end camera is a canon (apart from hasselblad) and i am using canon simply because of the awesome 17mm TSE lens.

but if you were working with a friend, and serious about it, i am seeing both of you working in a company sort of things. then it makes sense to use the same system... not very much for the same colour but can share lenses and accessories...

just shoot raw lah and adjust the diff in post, save a lot more money and you can keep using the nikon you already familiar with...this is assuming that it is possible to adjust the raw to match the canon which I think is possible lah...

gbs,
What are the features you need on a 6D? I guess its only right to compare the 6D canon to a D600 Nikon since both are FF.

After doing my research on both, I went for the D600 from my crop sensor 60D. If you are used to the Nikon features, you might not loose anything as the features on Nikon was a bit harder to get used to, considering the easy to use features on the 60D.

No regrets leaving Canon but to each his own.

6D has quite a few distinct advantage from the D700.
It is after all a generation later.

Advantages include 1080p movie, wifi, resolution.

I jumped from D600 to 6D and to me, it was judge to see a difference in sensor quality because I was using a mediocre lens on the d600 but a relatively good lens on the 6D.

I can say this I guess: The 6D has better noise performance at the cost of sharpness. Nikon files are indeed different and special in their own way (I prefer nikon colours), but its only a marginal difference to me.

6D files seem to handle skin tones better IMHO.

But the best part about the 6D to me is that I was originally a Canon user a while back, and the controls are just really intuitive and easy for me vs the D600. I like the handling of the 6D alot more than I did with the Nikon. But chances are, if you originally started out with Nikon, you won't feel the same.

D600 has built in intravalometer, but I don't have the time and opportunity to use it to its full use, so the wifi function in the 6D benefits me most (really really useful for my usages)

I heard that the quality of Nikon products has gone down. That's what a retail shop asistant told me. Canon seems to be no better. My old Powershot SX 1000 IS suddenly gave problems. It was my mainstay camera. All shots became over exposed. Brought to Canon Service centre in Peremba Square, Shah Alam. Had to change the whole lens assembly, costing me RM420; Guess digital things don't last. It's about 5 years old.
