Hmm....if that's the case...what's the difference between each character of the same race other than appearance?
Do we have a choice to distribute stat? Or it is fixed based on race+job?

And, if we do have a choice to distribute stat...does this mean that, if I keep adding strength on my character, then that character can never be a mage already?
What do people mean when they say "one character can play all job"? Your character stat will change accordingly to job? Then what's the point of distributing stat?

Shojikun, I registered at the player list, but there's no option where I can choose non-FC-yet, so I just pick the only option.

I don't really care fresh start or not, I am not playing to compete, I am playing to have fun, and I think old server with more loyal fans and veterans will induce better gaming etiquette and fun, plus all enthusiasm you can share with similar FF fans!

Anyway, when will the FC application open? I usually play MMO with random people, and quite happy with that...but this is first time I play on foreign-language (JP) server, so better make sure at least got some people to fallback on

I never joined previous beta, but I really want to get in the next beta...how do I register? I don't have any beta code, only the pre-order one...

Wait, this is confusing...I don't understand the registration part.
If you mean register a SquareEnix account, I already have one, just that I can't enter my pre-order code yet.
Usually Open Beta never needs any additional registration or beta code to enter...unless FFXIV is different?

Still can't find any website with screenshots showing characters with armors. Aion & TERA have some fansites doing that.

Is there any websites that shows many FFXIV armor screenshots?

I am not trying to decide a class, because one character can play all class, thus wear all equipment....

What I am trying to decide, is: which race to play.
That depends highly on how armors look on that race...I am trying to decide between Huyr, Elezen & Mi'qote.

I think it's official: I am 100% sure that, to date, there's no english website that has a gallery of FF XIV armors for all races.

BUT there is still hope! The keyword: English.
There MUST BE some, or at least one, JP website that actually have it...it has to be! I refuse to believe otherwise! I have faith in those Japanese fans!

Anyone who know how to read/search JP FF XIV fansite? Have you seen any armor gallery thus far?

I downloaded benchmark and created over 10 characters, one for each race and gender except lalafell.
In the benchmark, I can only see less than 5 sets of armors, such as Race Specific, lv20, 30, 40, 50 & Artifact gear.
Plus, I can't change job so I can only see Paladin's armor...

Oh my gawd wait a second...are you telling me if I level from 1 to 50 and end-game (I assume AF gear is end-game?), I only have that few sets of armors??!!! Seriously? That would be too few variety...

FFXIV had 1.0 for a year, and even ARR had 3 phases of beta.
For Aion & Tera, there are plenty of sites showing galleries of armors even before the game reached Open Beta.
I would expect much faster for FFXIV, one of the most popular game series of all time.

OMG~~~ NOOOoooooooo~~~~~~ Now I started getting headache again....
Guess I'll have to buy the 6 months subscription for Standard Entry, then create characters of different race and decide on the one to play after getting them through several levels.

The more I research, the more excited I am...I think this MMO has some of the very best mixture of good features...the FATE, Duty Finder, Cross-class system, materia, housing, and now even the crafting & gathering sounds interesting to a craft-hater like me...

It seems that I'll have to make two major decision:
1) Race
2) Grand Company

For Race, it's more about personal preference than anything, so I won't bother to ask anymore...

But Grand Company...from what I read, potentially become an important factor in PvP...and if a game has PvP, I'll definitely want to take part in it

Since I am going to play on Masamune, I don't wanna end-up choosing a Grand Company, and found that I am the only LYN folk playing in it, and can't communicate properly to pull off any PvP effort.

So...which Grand Company you guys will be playing?

Also, one important question: how will the choice of Grand Company affect your character progress (except the PvP part which I already know)?

I am running on Win7 64-bit so...not sure if I should put it under x86 Program Files folder or the 64 bit one....

Also, I created several characters in the benchmark, how to prepare the files so that I can skip the char creation when OB begins?
