This movie may well be the first flop of 2014. No comicbook superheroes, not much awareness amongst the public.
It doesn't deserve to flop. It's a helluva fun movie. Watching Tom Cruise die over and over again is hilarious. And yes, the ending is a bit same-same, but by then you'd already be invested in the story.
Take time to watch it.
Definitely more worth it than freakin' Amazing Spider-Man 2.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(Frostlord @ May 29 2014, 02:38 PM) 2) how did rita know she's "out"? the only way to prove it is to die, which we know she did not (not from cage pov but from hers) She can "feel" it. Cage said the same thing after he got his blood changed. Bit of a cop-out, but it works. QUOTE(Frostlord @ May 29 2014, 02:38 PM) 6) after brigham give the device to cage willingly, why did he order them to be captured? Because he was alone in a room with them and they had a gun. Giving them the device gets them away from him and allows more people with bigger guns to handle them.

I think there's a much simpler explanation for the ending: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « By rights, everyone died during that final attack on the Omega, including Cage. But the movie don't dare to end it with all our heroes dead. (And to be fair, it would not be a very satisfying ending if it just ended when Cage died.) So the Omega blood infusing into Cage, causing him to wake up again at an earlier date, is just a cop-out. It's just to give a chance for Cage and Rita and J Squad to enjoy a happy ending. The Omega is dead, the war is won, everyone lives happily ever after. Cage will live a long and happy life and die peacefully of old age... ...and what happens after that, is not something you need to think about.
