If it ain't broken why change it

Changing to normal roof tiles can be around 6k or more. But newer roof tiles quality are not as good as the old tiles, can be worse. This was what my contractor told me.

If change better change to the roof tiles with coating (glossy type) think is ceramic coat. But it can cost double.

Hm, roof tiles are sure as expensive as installing new floor tiles

But I should think its not that bad condition because the house was previously tenanted before I bought it although the tenants didn't maintain the cleanliness of the house well.   

Crossing my fingers that the roof tiles are in ok condition.

Ozak, you mean those awning as in polycarbonate roofing? If so, I was thinking something like those flat ones used for bus stop shelters in singapore. 

Does anyone also have an idea of the cost for pergola roofing used in car porch area (JB side) - I want to extend the car porch roof but the cost for concrete slab roof is really expensive for a car porch - was quoted a high cost for a full concrete slab and 10+k for half concrete slab roof add on to the existing car porch roof
