I've test many brand when I got my car. With my current driving pattern (95% city driving), I've found out Shell 95 work best. From that day, it's Shell 95 till now (3 years).

I also put Shell Ron 95 most of the time. If I'm outstation and can't find a station then I go for Petronas.

Haturaya... you mentioned your original 12v battery is panasonic right? Mine is Furukawa. Btw, my car pickup and charging mechanism was restored after the battery changed. Never knew the 12v battery does a lead role.

Sorry for misleading you, my original battery is some jap brand (can't remember) but I change to Panasonic brand, same type (38B19L).

Our car normal electrical circuit (IMA monitoring, IMA charging system, headlight, radio, EPS, etc) get it's power from 12v battery. Hence, if your 12v battery fail / failing, the sensitive IMA system might not work well. That's what I read from Insight forum some time ago.

Glad to hear you'd solves your problem. thumbup.gif

For regular service, DIY the cheapest. I'm planning to do that on coming service. FYI it's easy to DIY. I've been doing it for my Odyssey for the past 5 years. Touch wood. Will do that for my Jazz as well. Approaching 3 years old in September.

Which battery? If the 12v battery, I've changed it a few month back. Simple 10 min job. If for that hybrid battery, only honda SC can do it, they have proper procedure to do it. You don't want to be shocked to death by nearly 200v DC high current whistling.gif .

The SC never recharge the 12v battery, they just give the report the 'health' of the battery. The car will charge it, drawing power from IMA battery. If the 12v battery is weak / dying, it won't be able to hold charge appropriately. No point of trying to recharge it. It won't last. The only long term solution is to get a new one. Not that expensive... RM180 - RM200. Depends on brands.

I'm from Shah Alam too. You can start with the simplest one... changing the 12v battery. thumbup.gif Gradually learning to the more difficult one. Don't be overwhelmed by the job to be done. When you know your car mechanically, no workshop can cheat you on any job needed thumbup.gif

Sorry, not pretty sure any good workshop in vicinity. Haven't been to any independent workshop for a very long time, as I DIY servicing my other car (engine oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, even I DIY changing timing belt for my previous Toyota car). I have all the tools required. smile.gif

I buy all genuine Honda spare part from a Honda part shop near Shah Alam Politeknik area.

The only workshop that I've been is Honda Glenmarie (for servicing my Jazz). Wont be going to them after my Jazz warranty expired.
