Hahah... not makan and never drink water lah.

They hiccup coz the gulp down the water and their food quite fast, forcing air to get gulped in. So air is then forced into their tummies, making them hiccup loh. This is a puppy thing, puppies will out grow hiccuping when they get older.

Hiccups are normal for pups, no sign of illness or whatever lah. Just let your pup get over the hiccups by itself.

"Puppies quite commonly get hiccups. When puppies eat and drink, they tend to ingest large quantities of air. Air, as it enters the esophagus and stomach, tends to trigger the hiccupping response. The authors have never seen an instance where hiccups was the result of any disease disorder. Consider hiccupping normal and common in dogs, and especially in puppies less than eight months of age.

There is really nothing you can do for a puppy with hiccups, other than have him rest quietly until the hiccups are gone. If you find certain circumstances such as extreme excitement seem to trigger the hiccups, you can try to avoid those types of situations"

LOL... nevermind hahaha... there is always next time I guess. But it would be nice to know some doggy owners around Setapak, especially near where I stay, then can have mini doggy socializing walk or something.

Hi guys, just came back visit my soon to be chi chi  wub.gif , she is super energetic today compare to the last time i see her, playing tug of war with me non stop and nimble my hand till my whole hand is full of her saliva  drool.gif  tongue.gif

One thing hor, the breeders say she has 5 siblings and her vet card might have been mixed up with the rest
EG, vet card microchip number might not be hers one, could be her sis or bro one.
The owner ask me to go for a scan of the microchip number and verified and if wrong, she will get the right one back for me. Does this sound a lil fishy to you guys ?  hmm.gif and where can i get a scan on the chip ?  rclxub.gif
Thanks a lot guys.
*
Go to a vet or a petshop that sells dogs.... normally they have a scanner there.

Some breeders do mixed up the microchip numbers and cards when the puppies all look the same....

last night i gave roy some boiled chicken bones and noodles with vege.. it finished everything.. this morning i gave it kibbles and it wouldnt touch it unless i feed it 1 by 1.... i dont want to make it get used to our food and i read somewhere saying only feed it twice a day.. it didnt each much this morning.. what should i do?
*
Why you give boiled chicken bones? Didn't you know that the bones when cooked, can cut the stomach and throat? Some dogs die from eating cooked bones.... Chciekn bones can only be eaten raw.... if cooked, they crack and splinter easily, causing needle like sharp bones.

Let your dog starve.... once Roy knows hunger, he will eat his food. Stop cooking and giving him human food. You are only spoiling him and his health with the bones than giving him proper nutrients. He will need to learn that his food is the only thing he will get. This is dog training.

good info there thx... so i will not give any food cept for kibbles and those little long things for it to bite for the teeth.. like pigs ears.. do i just leave the kibbles there whole night?
*
Well, just give whatever dog kibbles for now. Dog treats, keep it minimal coz you want your pup to eat dogfood first. Use treats as reward for good behaviour and also as a training tool.

Don't leave the kibbles for the night. An example of training a dog to eat his/her food:

You feed your dog at 6pm. Put down the food bowl. If your dog doesn't touch the bowl in 30 minutes, take it away and wait for 30 minutes to an hour.... then put down the food again. Some dogs would eat straight but some would still ignore. If your dog ignores the 2nd 30 minutes, take away and don't feed till the next morning. It may sound cruel but you must let your dog know that there is a feeding time and dog food is its food. I did this to my dog. Now she eats her food straight after I place it down and in about 20 minutes, she finishes everything.....

Ohhh... so your dog is the kind that likes people to sit with it during mealtimes.... ahahha... my dog was like that too and became a habit till I started ignoring her during meals.... then she now eats alone.

Roy responds quite fast to your training.  smile.gif  You got a smart dog there!  wink.gif
Lol, I guess he doesn't like to dine alone.  tongue.gif
This is something new to me.  smile.gif I didn't realise that some of the dogs like people to sit with it when eating  - sounds very manja dog. Mine will wallop everything once you let him eat, irregardless of where you are.
*
Hahaah... some dogs very manja.... Chelsea wanted me to sit with her at every meal of hers.... I actually did sit with her coz my mom wouldn't let me ignore her.... she said I too cruel LOL.... but what to do? Must teach dog mah... so after a year, I just couldn't bother to sit with her for 30 minutes... sometimes an hour.... so I just did the food training method and ignore her during meals.... after a few weeks, she started to eat on her own.

My boxer and lab eat like vacuums... so that's easy hahaah.

That's what I don't like about back to basics... got corn... now my dad swears that it's the food LOL.... he ask me stop orijen and change.... but then I have the strong feeling it could be Zinpro... anyway, really dunno for now coz feeding the back to basics and Zinpro to my lab and she got less shedding already.

hmm, maybe I will get a packet to test on shushu...
Then we can compare results better.  How long is Tammy on Zinpro before you see any result?
I saw 2 types of packaging (different colour) for zinpro treats, which one you bought?  unsure.gif
*
I got the salmon and potato one.... the ingredients are ok, no corn but got wheat lah, which is ok since biscuit. 1 biscuit for 16kg of body weight. Tammy has been on it for 3 weeks already.... so I also not very sure is Zinpro giving her that effect but the website for Zinpro said that it helps lessen shedding and skin problems.... Tammy gets 2 biscuits a day.... she is about 27kg I think....

Oh, shushu is about the same weight too, so 2 biscuit a day also.
I think wheat should still be ok - I am currently giving him mother nature treats which contains wheat as well. Actually, I like mother nature's treat - they smell very nice.....kekeke, sometimes I also feel like eating also.  tongue.gif
I will go and look for it maybe on this friday. Need to replenish my pet stuff this week.  smile.gif
*
Hahah... I also use Mother Nature... smells nice but you won't like the taste loh.... very bland LOL...

Anyway, today I saw something from JerHigh.... Healthy Soup... to me it looks disgusting.... imagine, a milky brown soup with chunks of fake meat floating in it. Pack in a glass bottle.... LOL.... I don't buy JerHigh anymore coz it doesn't have that good crunch biscuits have, then also mostly flavourings, salt and gelatin....

ooh, I haven't attempt a bite on it yet... tongue.gif
Healthy soup? new product ar.... jerhigh also has those bacon strip treats right? I got a free packet last time - fed only one piece to shushu. The colour is deep red and the smell is so strong (doesn't smell natural to me). It make me kinda worried (i feel like a mother feeding her kid junk food  tongue.gif ) so i gave the packet away.
*
Hahah... JerHigh is junkfood... but they label their bacon strips and jerky as made with real chicken... try tasting it, really artificial loh.... no real meat texture also hahahaha. The new soup is labeled as Healthy Soup that's high in calcium. I'm sure many would fall for such a label coz high calcium... and also healthy... as if healthy lah.

Simchi, ProPlan.... it's ok lah but to me, a bit salty in taste hahahah.... yes, before you ask, yups, I do taste dogfood.... LOL...

Anyway, why not switch to Acana? It is lower in protein than Orijen but same company that manufactures it..... or If you really wanna slim her down, try California Natural Low Calorie diet.

About the shedding.... Really it less. I ask my grandma who sweeps the porch in the morning, she said less fur liao... but I still not sure lah is the Zinpro or the back to basics food... could be the combination.
