When my GR puppy was 2+ month, he shed a lot too and we thought it was normal shedding. However, his fur was dropping really bad until we can see some patches of "bald" spot. We found out later that he was actually allergic to his shampoo. After changing the shampoo, his fur grow back and the bald spot disappear.

Not sure if this help. When we brought him to the vet, the vet check whether it is allergy or shedding by doing this. He grab a bunch of my puppy fur and when he pull gently at it - the fur just came out very easily (hence those "bald" spot). He explained that if it is normal shedding - the fur should shed evenly. There should not be bald spot and when pull, it should not come off easily. You may want to try this just to check before bringing him to the vet.

ehh.. i duwan over pumpmy GR, K9 day i saw 1 OVER PUMP ADULT GR!. omg he looks so over weight champ man..

Used to Have 4 golden retrievers at home..but all died..Got the original pair from aus..which gave birth to the other 2.which died recently a.. both 12 years old..

Realised that a lot of u pple are interested ingetting retrievers..Hip dysplasia is a common problem..so dont go for a cheap bargain....u might pay more for vet bills later..

Hi,

Just asking, does anyone having difficulty walking your dog?   

I feel that my GR puppy doesn't like to go for a walk. He will be very happy to get out of the house initially but after passing maybe 5 houses, he will just lay down and refuse to walk anymore. I have to coax him to get him up and walking. Then, after a while, he will start laying down and refuse to walk again. 

The process keep repeating so it is kind of frustrating to keep walking and stopping all the time. Sometimes, I have to resort to treats just to get him up.

I am wondering whether anyone has a similar problem and how to overcome this.  Or is this unique to my puppy only. 

Hmm...I tried walking him in the house today with a leash. He seems not to like it  very much as he keeping pulling the leash towards the gate (like indicating he wants to go out) However, he didn't lay down on the floor. I don't really know why he doesn't like to walk outside. Maybe it is too soon to take him out for a walk. 
I hope my GR will be like yours when he reach 8 months old. At the moment, I think he is very happy to go home rather than walk.

Last week while bringing him to the padang nearby, he managed to break free from his leash and headed straight home (speeding). Luckily there is no car when he cross the road. Almost gave me a heart attack. I thought I am going to loose him then. I was running madly after him and shouting his name. Luckily, he know how to go home. When i reach my house, he was walking around the gate, trying to get in. 

I do like golden retriever very much...  I have 2 GR with me and they are 3 years old already....

oh.. the fur is getting longer n longer liau.. his fur no longer stay straight, it kinda curls abit..

but i like him with short fur haha.. he can be quite notty sometime but still very adorable haha

yea pj area sell golden retriever damn xpensive one ... espiecially summer pet shop , im a regular cutomer and a member at summer pet shop at summer pet store also , but i dun think is a good suggestion buy a dog / puppy direct from pet shop ... if want buy , i suggest buy from breeder better lor , adoption about GR is quite difficult but as long as u want , surely one day u can get it one la . but heard that paws got GR for adoption , u can go paw see see look in case reli got gr . GR is a very active dog..one of my friend also love gr also....and very cute too ..although very big size la...u know ikano , the pet safari , the salon got 2 gr wan ..one is overweight edi want ^^ !!! hope u can find a gr for ur gf soon !!! good luck !

hahahahhaha , yeah is a huge golden retriver ... and golden retirever like water reli much espicially rainny day , my friend told me that her gr like to play with water ... it is becuz gr born to love water and they even like to swim , if im not mistaken lah ...well is true tat heahtly is good enough and you show the care and love to them . the taman megah ( pj ) pet store if is xpensive then i think you can try seapark pet store at ss2 , they are quite friendly , sumtimes i ask them to diskaun , they will not show angry faces , cuz nomally i buy 7.5 kg dog food science plan to my lui lui ( MS ) hahaha..can tahan for 3 month well... im a member of summer pet store but then i dun like to go there is becuz of they all money faces , they will treat those customer which is spend more on his item , and buy more , they sure happy lah ... sumtimes i just buy rm 17 + item for a sleeky snack , they seem like look down on me lol ... so i dun like to buy item from there ... sumtimes i even go ikano to buy snack for my lui lui

how bad is your breeder ? mind to tell ? yeah some special cases from breeder wan which is i heard from forumer lah . well your golden retriever look so nice also . lots of people like gr hahahha ... but honestly lah , gr show that can be a model oso , and gr can do shows wan . is very obedient breed weren't they ?

Yeah, Prince looks really handsome. Heheh, reminds me of my old GR which was also named Prince.
When I was really young, my mom let him outside for a walk and he never did came back. I never did knew what happened to him. >.<

Yeah, lets try to plan one for GR owners and lovers too. That way there'll be more people for the gathering. ^^

theres another place..Island cafe in SS2...heard is a dog friendly place...a fren of mine who owns 2 huskies kinda hang out there before..and so far no worries on that..
