Hi. Wanna ask some help here.
How to capture the image I want when I pause a movie in Window Media Player?
I can't seem to find any button that help me capture the image.
I used Print Screen but when I "paste" it, its Window Media Player with blank image.
Any help?
Thanks in advance.

Moderation : I've merged topic regarding capturing image from video/anime/movie

use Winamp.

open the preferences, General Preferences>Video. Uncheck "Allow hardware video overlay". Play your video, pause it and press Print Screen. There.

This trick won't work with WMP.You'll only get a blank (black) screen. With MPC seems fine.Others, I don't know.

I tried searching on my own using the search feature, but it return me to incorrect results.

So, please, don't flame me, I tried, and I hope that someone would share their knowledge.

oh yeah i also use BSPlayer
it's a pretty good application IMO
it plays subtitiles automatically if you have it in the folder of your video file
and screen capture with BSplayer is a snap.. really easy.
i made most of my gif animation using captures from movies, MVs, trailers.. etc etc

it's easy, download the player from here.
and then you can straight away install and play it.

then if you want to capture screen, just press P once or repeatly.
then browse into the BSplayer folder and the files you have captured already in there.
no need to print screen and paste it somewhere else.

i would do a tutorial with pictures if anyone's interested.

reply.
goliath, uncheck use overlay. if u dont do that. you wont see a light forever. ekeke

So here is the free and simple way to capture Images from Windows Media Player

Open Window Media Player
Then go to Tools -->Options
In Options, select the Performance Tab
Way below you click on the Advanced Button
Uncheck "Use Overlays'
Click Ok

then use the print screen button,
paste it in ms paint.

thats all i know

capture on fly is very hard to work with, use any editing softwares like pinnacle studio, adobe premier ,edius etc to export selected frames..... remember all videos are interlaced which has two fields in a frame... you need to deinterlace it in photoshop to see clean picture without horizontal jitter.

cheers!

oohh, really a. i suspect this is because codec problem. some of my avi files become like that when i play it using wmp11. last time i used k-lite codec version 1.49, didnt get this problem, maybe i will revert back to older version of codec. here some more screenshot without horizontal jitter one, and i didnt do any photoshop edit, just printscreen. smile.gif

I'm not sure if this thread is still ongoing or whether TS found his solution already.
But if you're not as tech savvy enough to use all those frame-per-frame programs (like me blush.gif ) and you just want to quickly take a snapshot, this is the quick way on WMP.
Open your show, pause it whenever you want to take a screenshot.
Open the WMP menu, go to tools, then to options, then to performance.
Lower your video acceleration all the way to the bottom and apply it.
Print screen and paste on paint.
Ta daaa rclxms.gif
Do remember to move your video accel all the way back up once you're done so as to not affect your video watching qualities. nod.gif
Hope this helps! =)

Hi,
You can capture picture from video with Movienizer. It's a movie cataloguer, but has an extended feature of making snapshots. It's a freeware. You can search in google or simply go to www.movienizer.com

Press SHIFT+S on your keyboard.
The pictures will be saved on My Pictures.
If it is not working, try go to Tools>Perference>Hotkey>Take video snapshot
Change the hotkey to your likings.

Hi. Wanna ask some help here.
How to capture the image I want when I pause a movie in Window Media Player?
I can't seem to find any button that help me capture the image.
I used Print Screen but when I "paste" it, its Window Media Player with blank image.
Any help?
Thanks in advance.

If print screen is not working on windows media player, try using it on any other player like vlc player or winamp. I tried it on vlc by pausing the video and it worked just fine.

First Idea
1.First Pause Video
2. Then press Ctrl+PrtScSysRq button (now you have snap shoot of screen)
3. Then Open paint and Press Ctrl+v (Here is your image, save this file)
4. then Open this image with Picture Manager and crop the unnecessary part of image.

Second Idea
1. In window run command type snipping tool, this with this tool you can capture image.
Thanks

It depends on the model of your laptop. Some laptops have different ways to screenshot
