What your purpose to buy Semi-Pro DSLR? Just buy kit lens.

I am always amazed when people ask this question after a few months of their camera purchase. TS now asking even before the purchase!

One advise : buy the cam with the kit lens. Shoot with the kit lens UNTIL you KNOW what lens to buy next.

+1!
Although not as sharp as those with better glasses, the Nikkor kit lens (preferably the 18-105mm F3.5-5.6) is versatile enough to let a beginner try out different types of photography, then only decide from there which genre of photography he/she is interested in before aiming for the next lens~

@TS, buy a D7000 body (should be around RM2.5k only) and the 18-105mm from Pmc to shoot around and learn 1st. You will save money by getting a second hand one, leaving you with remaining budget. Save them up, and then invest in a better lens after you know what you want (which u eventually will if you shoot alot icon_rolleyes.gif ). Most people after getting their 2nd lens, will not use the 18-55/18-105mm anymore, so no real point in getting a new one laugh.gif

When I got my D7000 2 years ago, I got it with the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens... hv other lens like 50mm and 70-300mm but this 17-50 is ALWAYS on my DSLR everywhere I go...

A tip for TS, get 2nd hand DSLR and lens and save the money for accessories like battery grip, tripod, filters and more lens & accessories...

very true tongue.gif just buy the cheapest, working 18-55 or 18-105 you can find. you'll 'discover' which focal length u'll like, buy your 2nd lens, and sell the 18-55/105 for the same price (or higher?)!

Buy the 18-200mm if you got the budget. Can cover everything under the sun. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
