Btw the resipe I have last time is chicken liver cook with rice.. And dont ever add salt as dog cant have salt. remember the smell. lolzz.. Damn wangi and she have better food than us human does nowdays |

Salt causes high blood presure in dogs.
No Onions and no sugar. So you want a home cooked diet? It would be troublesome so best you prepare everything during weekend, freeze it and package it in small bags so that it is easier for you to thaw and cook each day. The best is give your dog a variety. I will list down a variety of food for you dog but make sure you ratio it yourself. You can buy mince meat. Beef or chicken or pork. Cook it in a little water, no oil if possible. You can give rice, some use pasta as carbohydrate. You will need to add some offal in the food so I suggest you get chicken liver, pig's heart, chicken heart, tripe and pig's liver. Alternate this every week and only feed TWICE a week, too much offal will make your dog get too much vitamin A, bad for the dog in long term. Your dog will also need some ruffage. Puree some vege in a blender. You can use broccoli, spinach, carrots, green peas, apples, pears, choy sum... any leafy greens. So for your dog's meal, it would be 1 portion meat, 1 portion rice, 2 tablespoons of vege puree. Mix this well with a teaspoon of Olive oil or Canola oil. Do not feed raw meat, remember, cooked meat only and it is best if mince meat, cooks faster and easier to digest. |

Totally agree with crazy mouth. Just wanna add one thing.. never let ur dog eat pulut or nin kou (cny cake) as the dog cant digest it well and can suffocate from it.
If your dog is those big dog( attacker dog mostly ) you need to give them bone once in a while to streghten their teeth if not you end up with ur furniture with lotsa holes. lol |

QUOTE(kane32 @ May 13 2006, 10:30 PM) Oh yah... left this out. Once a week you can give a cooked egg. Scrambled or hard boiled. You can also give your dog some yogurt, my dogs love yogurt hehehe.... If your dog have soft stool, you can add some oat bran. Also, a natural dewormer and good for digestion is pumkin. |

My own food mix. Minced meat (u can buy in any pasar, comes in big bag... mixture of chicken, beef and mutton) and rice. Dilute the vitamins and mix it inside... Once a week, a nice big fat drumstick or steak.
I tried giving my dog vege... but no use wan la..won't eat. That dog damn smart, even though it's minced meat mixed well with rice, he can just eat the meat and leave the rice. Cheaper way is left over food but not advisable. Mostly let them eat ALPO enough la |

I don't think it is a good idea to feed table scraps to your dogs. You want them to get healthy balanced food just like human beings.
I feed mine: Purina ONE Large Breed Puppy Formula. Snacks in between for training purposes. I have so far only got this: Milk Bone biscuit. Will try other snacks for her soon. RedBox |

It is kinda expensive. It's a balanced diet mix. Vets also recommends Science Diet (not sure if it is available in Malaysia) but I started on Purina One and it's a pretty good diet as well.I buy a 20lb bag for about US16.32 (~RM60). We have found a place that sells 40lb bag cheaper (Petsmart) so we will be getting that after our dog finish the 20lb bag. Can anyone tell me the prices in Malaysia? I want to recommend it to my Sis for her dog. RedBox This post has been edited by RedBox: May 17 2006, 09:54 PM |

Threadstarter is asking about dog food. In the discussion that follows, treats were also mentioned.
UGPM means You Got Private Message. Common practice to include that to let recipient know that he/she was sent a PM by the poster. RB This post has been edited by RedBox: May 20 2006, 02:45 PM |
