just call phonestar.... the price is RM2588 coming free with bluetooth handsfree and 1GB memory card... and will available within this month (they also not sure when) .. but will be in this month...

but one funny thing was... when i ask .. can i pay by credit card ?.. first the salesgirl say NO... i was like haaaa ?.... then i ask .. u mean i need to pay RM2588 by cash ? .. she said yes .. but quickly she said.. wait i will confirm it first later... She will inform me later...

Hmm.. most of phone shop accept credit card .. why this kind of shop (sole distributor of this phone) does not accept it.. you are selling things something like RM2000 - RM3000 .. and u expecting people to bring CASH money to ur shop... haiyoo.. pleaseeee la.. people dun carry that so much CASH money in their pocket...

Got it on last Saturday.. bought it at Digital Gadget at Lowyat plaza ground floor .. package :

ASUS P525 box + Jabra BT150 BT headset + 1GB kingston miniSD + screen protector = RM2588 (u can pay by credit card without any extra charges)

Do not have any problem with my set yet... only the battery bcos i was using it non-stop for 2 days + with bluetooth headset on + GPS receiver on .. is it normal for PDA battery ?

ok here's my turn for some questions.

Is the phone friendly for one hand operation? i spend a olt of time driving on the road.
i need to know if i could (operate in 1 hand, without tapping on the touch screen)
1. go into contact and make a call through the key pad without much hassle
i just discover this.. u can goto Contacts and press "* t9" button for a while ... then the keyboard will change to T9 ... but if u type anything it will return a number instead of character .. u have to press "* t9" for a while again and it will be a popup for u to select :-
- Symbol
- 123
- abc
- T9 English

choose "abc" .. then u can type anything same as normal phone

2. go into message, open and reply like normal phone
the answer same as no. 1

3. navigate the menu/options via the joystick and button
with P525.. u can do that without any hassle..

those pda phones w/o keypad like atom, 6828 or 818pro are impossible to operate with 1 hand without loosing concerntration while driving......

appreciate if you could elaborate on the operation of the 3 questions above. thanks in advance.

in the Start->Setting->Input ... under Word Completion :-

- Suggest word when entering text is checked
- Suggest after entering "2" letter(s)
- Suggest "1" words
- Add space after suggested word is unchecked
- Replace text as you type is checked

sad.gif

thank you for trying it out for me. someone said that his keyboard suggest words too.
*
Keyboard suggest word ? ... hmm i thought if u already activated T9 then system will suggest the word .. u can't use suggested word without T9 rite.. u can only use virtual keyboard when T9 is deactivated rite ? meaning that u can only use one input in one time (either virtual keyboard or T9) .... That "someone" mentioning his virtual keyboard in the screen or his physical numeric keypad ?

Waaa... nice try Deani_77, hope its stable enough biggrin.gif

i think i will wait for asus to come out with official WWE WM6 for P525

BUT if they DO NOT come out with that release then i will wait for unofficial P525 WM6 to be stable enough, then i will install it biggrin.gif..

Edited : Deani_77, there is an update for GPRS fixes - version 5.2.1437 (17944.0.3.1), i think u should update that if u're using GPRS

Hi Deani,

Just wondering about the battery consumption on overclock P525 (520MHz) .. how is yours if you're using for normal calls + sms (no bluetooth or wifi)

I'm now considering to upgrade to WM6 due to my problem with WM5 alarm. The alarm was trigger but there is no way you can off it bcos no "Dismiss" menu appear in your screen. The sound just continuously ringing even i soft-rest my PDA.

My temporary solution for this, installed MemMaid then delete all <blank> notification and <clock> alarm notification, it works but if another alarm triggered again then i have to redo mentioned steps earlier.

Battery consumption on normal usage (no WiFi + no BT) was generally satisfied since Asus PDA have the CPU mode. I can use it for 2 days (for more than one year old PDA and battery) on Auto mode.

Actually when you activate Auto mode, your processor will change it speed according to load you give. I ever saw (using TCPMP player) my processor running below 100MHz.
*
Meaning that we still can control the CPU mode eventho it has been overclocked to 520Mhz ?

BTW Could you please verify my steps below b4 i continue with the WM6 upgrade from my virgin P525 with WWE ROM v3.34 :-

WM6 Setup
-------------------
1. Format SD Card with FAT16
2. Copy WM6 ROM (V8 Basic WWE [w/o Chinese Support] ROM (based on Misar's WWE ROM)) + Asus unlock lang id into SD Card (Got from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=339252)
3. Connect PDA to power
4. Run Asus unlock lang id if you use other than English version of ROM before
5. Press Camera button + poke soft reset hole
6. Wait until the flashing is finished
7. Press power off button + poke soft reset hole
8. Follow on screen instruction
9. Finished with WM6 setup and continue with WM6.1 setup below

WM6.1 Setup
-------------------
1. Delete all file from SD Card
2. Copy WM6.1 ROM (WM 6.1 OS 5.2.19581 build 19581.1.1.1 for ASUS P525) + Asus unlock lang id into SD Card (Got from here http://www.pdamobiz.com/forum/forum_posts....ID=134611&PN=1)
3. Connect PDA to power
4. Run Asus unlock lang id if you use other than English version of ROM before *** Do i need to do this again ?? ****
5. Press Camera button + poke soft reset hole
6. Wait until the flashing is finished
7. Press power off button + poke soft reset hole
8. Follow on screen instruction
9. Finished with WM6 setup

Thanks smile.gif

Yes, the CPU mode still working. I also confirmed this with other member at XDA Developer.

That the step I use. Before continue upgrade it to WM6.1 please ensure that your boot loader already been upgrade to 070518180359 version.

Thanks for your answer smile.gif but b4 that one more question... can i use SPB Backup file from WM5 in WM6 or WM6.1 ? If cannot, how can i load back all my PIM, Contacts, etc from my previous WM5 to my new WM6?
