Man, the expansion sounds very tempting... I see THQ is really this standalone expansion style first pioneered by Dawn of War. Hell, they look like they're gunning for Blizzard's throne.

I will however look at the unit list first before jumping in. Hope they introduce more air units.

3255 has been out for awhile. It was the one where they made the Soul Ripper attackable by gunships.

I think I had 3253 then switched to 3255 (Listed on the GPGNet front page).

Anyway, just tried the new units... All are basically T2 Air vs. Ground solutions:
Cybrans and UEF have t2 bombers that are tougher, fly higher (Less susceptible to low level AA) and slower. The Cybran one is ridiculously inaccurate, but its very damaging and its the opposite for the UEF one which is like its t1 brother (firestorm style)
The Aeon one is pretty interesting as its basically a freaking missile that you can control. It self-destructs into bolts of energy with some nasty damage and pretty decent AoE (About 6 kills one ACU). Downside is that has the health of a scout. High altitude though.

Nice to know that Chris Taylor is doing the same thing he did for TA.

I don't think they made one since even when using GPGNet to update, it downloads them one by one.

Does anyone here have the insane mind to actaully play this online?

The game is a major turteling RTS, not that its bad but most everybody have gotten use to fast paced versions. Have anyone bought the ori and played it yet?

I am considering buying the first and second release.

Actually, it only looks that way on paper, since virtually all the base defences own everything on their own tech level. But, what you need to remember about SupCom is this: The speed at which you produce stuff is directly proportionate to how your economy is doing. You could then ask, "Isn't that the same with most RTS'?"

Ah, but remember that unlike regular RTS' where the most you can do is build more units at the same time, SupCom ups the ante by actually allowing you to produce units FASTER if your economy can support it.

It just goes to show the breadth and depth of the game when you can turtle like mad or rush like a zerg, and still be able to win the battle.

Anyway, saw some reviews of FA and apparently they've spruced up the interface and made experimentals cheaper. Yay!
