Im not playing any alpha versions.Im still playing the demo.

I think im still playing this great game. It's what i want all these while but it will take sometime to get used to it after playing so many micro intensive games like CoH and DC.Im really not used to a macro intensive game.

Oh ya... after thinking for a while the detail arent really important cause most of the time im using the zoom out mode too.Details doesnt really matter when you are looking far a way but i'll miss the fancy terrain scarring.Everything looks like a bunch of pixels only. How to play with the closest zoom?Cant really see anything.

The main thing is at least my com can run this game at minimum, unlike some of my friend's com which cant even start the game at all.

I hope it's further optimized in the full retail version, far better than the demo.No wonder it lags on my com lags in the campaign when i have lots of planes flying around.Im playing on the default setting, btw.
*
Oh ok... Was wondering why you mentioned Full Version and with all the leaked versions flying here and there, one jumps to conclusions.

Anyway, I noticed that in the campaign missions, the detail is sometimes NOT turned down (Shadows remain despite being switched off).

Anyhoo, at time of release, the beta was still ongoing, so there might be some improvements before its release.

I dont think 64MB can run largest TA map.. some need 128MB and some need 96MB. I still have the game in my old PC and still playing it..
*
IINM, at the time of its release only 64MB maps were available (These were monstrosities at a time when 32MB was considered high end). Only after Core Contingency did they bring in the 128 MB ones.

Well look on the bright side, at least it doesn't take forever to load like in the original TA biggrin.gif

....you expected a BULK of Monkeylord!? Do you know how long it takes to build ONE of those?  shocking.gif
*
Well during the E3 preview, there was this massive battle with like 4 of them... That would be bulk I guess tongue.gif

Anyway, the Aeon and UEF experimental units are far more cooler than the Cybrans. The caveat though is that the UEF ones are SUPER expensive while the Aeon ones are kinda wimpy.

UEF has the super heavy artillery installation. Well, for TA veterans, you know the Buzzsaw? The rapid firing Bertha? Yeah, this is that, but its range is HUUUUUUUGE. Its also the most expensive item in the game IINM.

Then there's the mobile factory, which is kinda cool as it builds T2 units really fast. Plus, its got artillery cannons up the wazoo. Not much health though.

Aeons have the flying fortress (Remember the UFOs from the movie Independence Day? Yeah, THAT but faster) and a giant walking robot. biggrin.gif

Indeed I set the builders to build that thing while I ate dinner and came back 25mins later, and its still building.  sweat.gif

the rapid firing bertha that is

and I also remembered it draining my entire power of my 4 fusion plants in 2 seconds.
*
LOL I know... But I think I had an army of T3 Engineers to do it. tongue.gif

The problem with this game compared to TA was that in TA, advanced constructors produced a decent amount of energy and mass. So, just by hoarding them, you increase your econ as well. But in SupCom, all they do is provide storage... WTF? Which means, you gotta build more fusion and fabricators.

Eurogamer has gotten their grubby hands on Supreme Commander already (Remember though, that it reaches European shores tomorrow) and they're esctatic over it. The only reason it didn't nail a 10 out of 10 was because the game was unrelentless at being the most massive RTS ever. Whether that's a problem remains to be seen.

This review pretty much sums up exactly how I feel about its economy system (If you don't have enough shit at your disposal, its your fault)

QUOTE
The overwhelming sense from SupComm (apart from the need to sleep for a week after a bout of it) is that its design brief was mega-war first, player sympathy second. The mega-war it gets absolutely right, but this is an RTS that could have bagged itself a 10 if it had reigned itself in a little, had tweaked its flow just enough so that there wasn't quite so much exhausting struggle. For all its grandeur, it'll simply feel too much like hard work for anyone who wasn't already sold on the concept - a timeless classic should have more universal appeal. It's a triumphant achievement nevertheless, a just reward for anyone who's ever lost their heart to an RTS - a love letter to the fans.

Ok, the CE is looking mighty juicy now. I wonder how much rebate points I have with TSB... Hmmm

I want the CE King Kong .. any faction will do .. but prefer UEF tongue.gif

Anyway .. i tried the demo earlier this morning and running on GeForce 6600 om medium setting. It runs really smooth but dunno what will happen during multiplayer. Anyway .. i tried the low setting and its really sux BIG time. If anyone buy this game and decided to play on low setting .. i would advice either to upgrade ur graphics card or dun but the game at all.
*
Erm, I think its because in the campaign, the details are not turned down all the way (There's shadows if you play in low and none while in multiplayer)

Dammit, King_kong. The ONE game that you guys localize after so long just had to come with a really kickass CE (And its super expensive to boot).

PS. I'm either picking the UEF or Cybran boxes... The Aeon may look sleek, but too sleek to my liking.

Making of documentary, Video mission briefing with Chris Taylor, 3 original tracks from the game, Fan website kit, Exclusive wallpapers.

It would be better if they included all the 16 video tutorials in the Bonus DVD also.
*
Erm, shouldn't they be included in the game DVD itself because that's kinda essential for all players?

Nope, in the demo when you click the tutorial button it opens the web browser and directs you to Sup Com website where they have the videos there for download.
*
Yeah, I figured in the demo that's the case... but wouldn't the retail versions have it in the disc itself?

Added on February 15, 2007, 6:00 pmJust placed my order for the CE with TSB. Yay!

Unfortunately, they're only reopening on the 26th. Ah well, at least I won't have it to distract me from my thesis. whistling.gif

If im not wrong,i think it's Shift-Up(the arrow key).

Please correct me if im wrong.

I like to move mine to the left.just like TA.

I do agree that the UI needs to be smaller. It's taking up 40% of my monitor space.
*
Its Alt, not shift

played and completed it b4 smile.gif .. other then dat, can try Star War EAW  icon_rolleyes.gif
Since in teh game we are fighting to control planets/regions all over teh galaxy, so I wandering earlier logically there should have some space battle. sweat.gif
*
Look, making a proper RTS in space takes more work than just tacking on space units onto a "flat" space template (Which for all intents and purposes, is what Empire at War did)

SupCom is a land based RTS, plain and simple... The BIGGEST one EVER at that and you're asking for more? Why don't you ask why Homeworld didn't have planet side battles (Ironically since its name represents a planet)

Some ppl are just impossible to please.

QUOTE(miloy2k @ Feb 20 2007, 08:09 PM)
is it me or this game dun have space battle hmm.gif
*
Well, in gaming forum land, any grouses for a particular game, automatically makes into a "I wish it were there" request.

I mean, if you were "annoyed" at the lack of space battles, doesn't that imply that you WANT it in the game, hence your complaint?

Anyway...
Can't wait for Monday to come so I can go pick up my copy... biggrin.gif

the collector's edition (RM 199.90) is available from these places from today:

OEM Business, Mid Valley
UK Komputer, Mid Valley
Gamers Corner, One Utama
Multimedia Computer, Subang Parade
Pusat Komputer BLK, Sunway Pyramid

sadly, the normal edition (RM 159.90) will only be available from next Wednesday the 7th because of production delays.

then, the localised edition (RM 79.90) will only be available mid March onwards, also due to production problems.

so go get them now.

it played well on my laptop, so it can play decent on most machines.

Enjoy!
*
Hmmm, should I get one from these places? B-but... must get rewards points with TSB... Gah!

Anyway, my buddy over in Aus has already gotten his hands on the CE and he's having a blast. Grrr...

Well I don't know the exact price, but he said it was just 10-20 aus more than the normal version.

Goodies include a supcom badge and lots of posters. The box is kinda cool as well.
