QUOTE(anfieldude @ Jul 15 2013, 04:36 PM) No its not Android based. I believe its full Marvell based and shd be Linux based (I think). I have been looking for a media player that can do full menu to supplement my Oppo that is the only one that I know can do 3D with full menu (old firmware). However, the Oppo 93 is no more in production. However, lets not get ahead of ourselves. I am yet to complete testing, so let me complete and see what other issues it has. Pricing is not cheap, its direct from China. So it must be worth it before I recommend. Let me complete my testing and I will report back. Are you buying BV8178M, bro anfieldude?

geforce,
I'm currently checking to see if I will buy one.
movfreak,
Yes, we will need to since there is a Minimum Order Quantity to be able to get decent pricing with shipping, not sure about warranty as hv not worked it out yet.
I'm a little tied up for the next 10 days, hope to have something by the end of next week at least. Plus I need to watch some complete movies to ensure there are no other issues with the player.

Okay, please note that the person whom I sent a pm to about this player, did indicate to me the price he paid. He said the NFS portion of the player is not stable.

Actually I have both Bevix BV8178M and Hualu N8 3D BD players+Media Players recently. Still need time to play around. So far they are what they claimed they are: can play all region BD, cinavia free, can play BD with full menu, and can play BD ISO, BDMV, mkv, rmvb, ape, flac etc. Bevix BV8178M http://www.bevixtech.com/product/detail.php/id-19.html is running on Marvell 88DE3010 chipset whereas Hualu N8 http://www.bfhualu.com/index.php/product/1/8 is running on MTK8555 chipset. I used Taobao agent to help me purchased the goods so add another 20% is what I paid.
For example RMB2200 convert to RM is (RMB2200/1.8*1.08)=RM1,319.99 + shipping cost.

Will check with the person who bought it if he got it at the same price. How is the Hualu H8? MTK makes good chipsets as well, I believe Oppo uses MTK in HDMI 2 for the Oppo 93.

Supposedly, Oppo and Dune had resolve the issue, but since I've never own neither, I cannot say. I have read forum where they rave about these network connection capabilities...

Yes, supposedly Bevix doesn't have reseller selling their products in Taobao or Tmall, the only official taobao shop is http://bevix.tmall.com/ that has link from the Bevix official site. But then all those reseller also want to do some sale thus they put in the title of 8078M upgraded version to represent 8178M. And if you pick the following package means you want the BV8178M pacakge. Hope this helps. Attached image(s)

How is the Hualu H8? MTK makes good chipsets as well, I believe Oppo uses MTK in HDMI 2 for the Oppo 93. The Dune Max3D will probably around the same price as the old model. So, I am expecting the price at about RM1.6K. Apparently, it does not have Cinavia protection and it also has BD Java menu. Fingers crossed as the shipment for it was delayed to next month. If it is what it claimed to be, I will not hesitate to get one for my own.

Based on the link below, it mentioned the Seastar BDP-190 was MTK8560 chipset based and perfectly support BDMV or BD-ISO. It also mentioned it's hardware based AAC Cinavia free solutions since 17 April 2013.. p/s: The link was in Chinese http://www.clickgou.com/product/1307416124...ayer_DVD_player
