There are high amounts of electricity passing through the TNB substation. A fault can cause fire and some small explosion. If the house is some distance from it - say 20 ft. I guess ok. There is also possible humming noise due to fluctuation. Lastly, they usually install some loud emergency alarm, which will go on and on until TNB switch it off (which I guess is pretty rare - but extremely annoying when it happens at night).

QUOTE(jobfree2u @ Jul 12 2013, 01:28 PM) 100ft? so far still can hear, what kind of sound? Can hear but faint. If next to it, better wear ear plugs - its that loud. Imagine fire alarm in a building.

QUOTE(jobfree2u @ Jul 21 2013, 04:34 PM) sounds serious.. is it different TNB room have different spec? or the same? I am not sure what spec they have. But to be safe be at least 100 feet away. If you want to live near also ok. I think having live in taman with this TNB room, I believe it has sounded the alarm like less than 5 times in 7 years.
