Does next browser has the pie control? I like stock browser because of that feature.

Sentinel and most aosp rom already comes with lmt pie.  You do not need to use that link from xda.

No trolling here, I had all iPhone's up to the 5, then I gave it to my girlfriend as I felt I had outgrown what apple could offer. I was at the point of only using an iPhone if it was jailbroken. Any one who likes simple interfaces and easy to use features get an iPhone, if you fancy something more exciting get an Android. Someone commented above that android just wasn't for them, that's what I said for five years thinking I had the "best" phone and feeling better than everyone else.

I then realized my worst fears I had become an iSheep.

Just one of the masses being steered in apples direction. I have nothing against apple as I love their hardware. But iPhone lost its allure when it started to reach the hands of every tom d*** and harry. I miss the days of only a select few being able to afford them.

what i did was take the picture i want, make it 482x<around400+> then add black colour to the remaining parts of the top to become 482x802. so for example my pic i manage to make it 482x440, then i need to add 482x362 black colour on top of the pic so it will become 482x802.

It's not "just a file system tweak". Ext2 was the old linux filesystem from I can't recall how many years back. Then they went to Ext3 and Ext4. Ext4 as the guy explained supports journaling ie allows recovery in case of screwed up writes. So I suppose Google chose the latest option with built in safety. And, this is a mobile device where you are expected to CHARGE your phone every day or so, and it is not a Nokia 3310

It's like changing your HDD from NTFS to FAT32. There are some safety features built into NTFS for better file management. As to bricking, there's always the risk when flashing, although I don't know if after you've converted to ext2, flashing a new ROM will reformat it as ext4. Maybe asking in that thread could be useful, since the OP says he has been using it for a long time.

Oh sorry....I didn't answer your question properly.

Write safety means increased I/O, therefore increased current usage. That's why ext2, without the I/O overhead, would logically save you some juice.

Obsolete hardware is still every bit as functional as the new shiny..... I mean a Core 2 Duo is still as usable as a Core i3/i5 Ivy Bridge or Haswell unless you the need to play 100FPS for the latest games. My last PC lasted me 6 years before I did the upgrade.

hey muctabucta, remember the tw_status_bar_expanded.xml file in res\layout that we used for the notification background? i saw somewhere in xda forum stating that the brightness bar can be set to transparent within the same file as well. based on my assumption from what i can find in the file, my only logical assumption is to change the value here:

from this
android:id="@id/brightness_controller" android:background="#ff000000"

to this
android:id="@id/brightness_controller" android:background="#00000000"

i've not tried it out myself, but you can try it first if you want to and please share the results with us if you do. i will try it after work.

Amoi arrr....rooting doesn't change anything on your phone laaaa. It just adds SU and allows root access and rwrrx controls with chmod etc.

It's what you do AFTER rooting that may or may not have further impacts.
