Evo, if budget allowed; SanDisk Ultra Plus performance is not that good, unless it's significantly cheaper than the rest.
Can consider other brands like Intel, Plextor, Kingston, Crucial etc.

Samsung Evo series is the sweet spot right now for the speed and IOPS, shocking high vs the Intel counterpart.
But if you just need a program/OS speed up, I think any SSD will do, just a tad 1~2 seconds different in real-life feels, buy with guts .
Btw I chose Plextor and no regret!

Ok listen to me, I got rMBP read/write an over 600mbs.

But I still feel my recently upgrade & review on intel 530 240gb SSD good than enough to handle all the ways.

Noted.. Time to upgrade into samsung 256gb 840Pro, cause your system is not recent.

don't force yourself to buy as what you can't do at the moment now.

For me I would go for 840 Evo that is really fast than 840 series.
Even intel 530 for me is good than enough.
For boot up and loading really fast than traditional HDD.

Cause I believe in the technology wise by today can be write up to 900mbs and next day coming up write in 1500mbs, we can follow that but at lease we use in advance technology than traditional motor spin with control by rpm only.

one way to get 840 pro is to be patient, save more, and get a higher capacity one. it's gonna last you for years. it's not that you will change it after months.

I would say take the WDC Black, better responsive vs normal HDD, in the case of Seagate SSHD, I guess it's just a small cache to compensate some small files for frequent loading so I don't think it'll help much in terms of loading games data (huge), it'll still loads from the HDD itself so the speed is still slower compare to WDC Black.

Suggest him SSD... no turning back... 

If I not wrong for black WD SSD read 200 & write around 200 mbs = sata 2 speed.

But still better than seagate hybrid drive

Can't decide between Samsung 840 EVO 120GB or Intel 530 series 120GB

Samsung has rapid mode and can sustain max performance even when fully filled up whereas Intel has 5 years warranty

I wanted to buy Samsung evo 120gb, then when you guys said it won't affect much, now in dilemma.
