Looking for SSD, performance and reliable. Main usage will be OS and gaming. For storage i save at standard HDD.

1)For budget RM700++ , should i get 120x 2 or straight 240gb? Thinking 1 for OS, 1 for gaming.

2) which brand is recommended?

3) Anything i should know more or aware with?

4) Does it give a boost for gaming? Or i upgrade better card?

My system as below;

Intel i7-2600K
Asus Z68 Pro (I think it support SATA3)
Asus 5950x2
Corsair 750HX
1024kbps

1. The only point for Dual SSD is, RAID0, it's like SLI/Crossfire but for SSD, no point for one SSD for OS and one for gaming, it's waste of money, waste of space on HDD cage lol.
2. Intel, Samsung, Kingston, Plextor, SanDisk, Crucial, if Samsung 840 pro 256GB is within your budget, just grab it: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6553/sandisk...-review-256gb/6
3. Don't download torrent/DDL and save to SSD. SSD chips has limited write cycle, i will reduce the SSD life span in the long term.
4. only reduce gaming load time. wont increase FPS for most scenario.

1024kbps has answered all of your questions. i will add that samsung 840 pro imo is the nicest. now it can take advantage of RAPID mode that was previously only possible for evo (although iops doesn't increase, the speed does).

Evo, if budget allowed; SanDisk Ultra Plus performance is not that good, unless it's significantly cheaper than the rest.
Can consider other brands like Intel, Plextor, Kingston, Crucial etc.

Samsung Evo series is the sweet spot right now for the speed and IOPS, shocking high vs the Intel counterpart.
But if you just need a program/OS speed up, I think any SSD will do, just a tad 1~2 seconds different in real-life feels, buy with guts whistling.gif .
Btw I chose Plextor and no regret! thumbup.gif

does the performance of the SSD increases as total disk space increases? 128GB is faster than a 64GB SSD as example

For the same series, yes, you'll notice it in benchmarking reviews that the speed and especially IOPS increases when you move on to bigger capacity, it's the same as your RAID0 with more hard disk, the speed increases as more NAND flash is stacked in the SSD (RAID0 of NAND Flash?? hmm.gif ).
But recently as the technology in NAND flash improved, even the smaller size NAND flash has the capability of very high speed and IOPS despite the lower count of NAND flash, such as the the mSATA from both Plextor and Samsung, they're both having high speed with such a small foot print. shocking.gif
