Bit the bullet, got myself a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB for RM620 from ViewNet! Good deal, or ok deal or so-so deal? Lol.

Next challenge, migrating data and installing/reinstalling the SSD into my rig with Win7.

Doubts:
I Should be leaving the Sata Mode on my Bios to "Raid" instead of "IDE/ACHI" right? Since I have another pair of WD RE4 Black 1.0TBs in Raid0 as a Data drive? smile.gif
*
Sata 3 more faster than IDE rclxms.gif

anyone can recommend me a good performance ssd?
I just need to use it for OS only.
*
Good performance can be reach & write an over 600mb/s so far on Mac system PCIe SSD only.

I would recommend you get intel 530 SSD for write a bit slower than samsung 840 Evo or Pro, Corsair.

But this both brand are quite realiable for usage everyday read/write or play some games.

If only boots for windows or mac then the budget one can get seagate, Kingston, adata or crucial, sandisk & plextor.

Actually if your SSD able to write and read an over 200-300mb/s on your life of hdd would be changed as 100%.

How about Sandisk Extreme II and Samsung 840 Pro?
I heard these two performance are double of Intel 530 ssd.
*
Not really double lah...

Sandisk Extreme II and Samsung 840 pro is almost plus & minor, once your write or read can be read up 300mb/s you would feel that really has a bigger gap or slower performance.

Can't decide between Samsung 840 EVO 120GB or Intel 530 series 120GB

Samsung has rapid mode and can sustain max performance even when fully filled up whereas Intel has 5 years warranty hmm.gif

120gb for both also not high performance SSD, unless choose from 250gb and above.

SSD works for life's.

1st not need wait too long for booting up and install software, these is no warm like traditional motor runing with slightly vibrating, speed can be double up or more.

So far like a SD card, CF card or others flash drive these is last longer life, just the connected port to be outdated for can't meet on recent speed.
