Nah, your 4K write is much important, and it's ridiculously high. shocking.gif
Looking at mine... cry.gif so much slower after installing drivers. yawn.gif

Mushkin to Showcase Scorpion Deluxe SSD and Ventura Ultra 3.0 at Flash Summit

Mushkin, Inc., an industry leading designer and manufacturer of high performance and mission critical computer products, has announced the company will be at the 2013 Flash Summit. The leading performance solutions manufacturer will be present at the AVANT Technologies booth and will be showing off the Scorpion Deluxe and Ventura Ultra for the first time.

"Participating in the Flash Summit is a great opportunity for us to show just what we are getting ready to release and how we continue to innovate. We are confident in the Scorpion Deluxe and Ventura Ultra, and there is no better way to express that than to display just how fast and powerful they are," said Nicolas Villalobos, Director of Global Marketing at Mushkin, Inc.

Mushkin will -- at the 2013 Flash Summit -- show off the final production units of the Scorpion Deluxe PCIe SSD and Ventura Ultra USB 3.0 flash drive for the first time. The Scorpion Deluxe PCIe SSD is a powerfully fast PCI Express solid-state drive that reach 2165 MB/s read and 1990 MB/s write. The Scorpion boasts 100,000 4K read IOPS and will begin hauling out production units available everywhere along end-August. Mushkin's Ventura Ultra 240 GB USB 3.0 is the world's fastest flash drive with a 455 MB/s read and 445 MB/s write rate and will be available towards the end of August.

"We're bringing out products that will really change the nature of the game. They will be among the fastest products available for professionals, gamers, innovators and creative producers," said Brian Flood, Director Product Management at Mushkin, Inc.

In addition to showing off product performance and capabilities, Mushkin will raffle out a brand new Scorpion Deluxe PCIe SSD and Ventura Ultra USB 3.0 flash drive to two lucky winners.

Have you enabled TRIM? Refer to first page "SSD Optimization" and see if yours is already optimized.

Please refer to first page for all the info and instruction on how to optimize your SSD for performance and lifespan improvement. It's all there, just need to take your time to read.
After all the optimization, post your AS SSD benchmark result, from there we can help you much better.

Note: Don't expect Windows Vista and below to perform par with Windows 7 and above (especially 8) and also note the combination of hardware used aside from the generation gap of SSD.

What would be the best SSD at a RM550 price range?

By "best" I mean lowest latency, long-lasting (doing more writes) and reliable (less likely to die for no reason)

I would say lowest latency being the most important part because I don't plan on transfering large files to the drive often

Currently in the market would be the Samsung 840?

Hi guys,

Finally got the courage to jump ship to ssd over the ever-reliable hd.

I just thought, maybe less is more.

For a first-timer, any good models for entry-level ssd? maybe 120gb? roughly around 200-300 price range?

Thanks!

hey guys, been having a hard time deciding which SSD would be better, by first impression i would like to go for the plextor m5s 128gb, due to it's cheaper price (RM309 from zhen^wei). but my friend did suggested me to consider the sandisk 128gb (RM325) as well. based on write speed sandisk would be slightly better and also the brand is more widely known. can you guys suggest which is better? which might serve me for a longer period of time? budget wise is around RM300+. thanks!

Always remember this: Many of the SSD maker uses ATTO benchmark result to advertise their read/write speed, by default ATTO use compressible algorithm benchmarking, which is why it looks good. if they use AS SSD as result the write speed will drop a lot tongue.gif
SanDisk SSD got 2 type, older one are SandForce Driven, the newer Ultra Plus is using Marvel Controller.

Btw SandDisk SSD is always an average performer sweat.gif
can consider Samsung/intel/plextor too

The advertised speed is sequential (compressible) read/write speed which only less than 0.1% used daily, the only thing you should focus on is the 4K read/write, this is the only thing that affect your daily usage (bootup, running applications, background process, browsing, etc.)
Therefore, look at the review before you start pulling your wallet. But for most cases any SSD should provide you the heavenly speed over normal HDD and that's for sure, the rest is your wallet capabilities... brows.gif
