I think f-secure is ok. For kaspersky, when it scans or auto scans, the windows will lag noticeably...

thats not because of the ram usage.
thats because your hard disk is under load during scanning process doh.gif

well if your system lacks of ram, u can set kaspersky to run with minimal monitoring which would not use much ram.
i have kaspersky running with default settings...and right now its scanning and only eating up about 25mb ram

but then again, kaspersky is the best ever product i've used in a long time. its shit load better than norton and its better interms of usability compared to avast. i havent tried nod32 so cant say much.

only gripe i have, its a little complicated to ......break into tongue.gif
i need to get those key files from time to time.

The time i tested both AV, I have 512MB RAM. But now, only 384MB RAM and even set F-secure to auto scan all the files, included the zip files and the windows works smoothly to me. Of coz kaspersky better than Norton, but i still recommend F-secure, since it adopts kaspersky AV scans engine.

F-PROT. It's small, lightweight, no frills, and no nonsense. It will protect you well. Without doubt, the lightest AV in terms of CPU and memory usage bar none but with a bit lower detection rate compared to NOD32 or Kaspersky.

Hmm... which 1 u prefer it's more "effective"?

I would say all antivirus are effective. It depend on your luck. Like my friends, they owez kena virus. But me? I seldom kena. If got, also small small worms or virus. Just use heal in any antivirus software and solve problem. I kena 1 virus which i consider big issue that is norton antivirus's virus. My NAV crash and cannot open NAV. I had to uninstalled NAV to solve the issue. Now i using AVG, less ram be needed and less space be install tongue.gif

It's depends on your luck tongue.gif Antivirus is just a wall to protect u. If the wall cracks? What to do? laugh.gif

I also recommand a plugin for IE and Firefox called SiteAdvisor, it will check the website u browsing safe or not. Very useful... laugh.gif
