Hellooo..

Am looking for a lappy with following specs:
- i7 or i5 (at least 4th gen)
- 8GB (expandable to 16GB)
- Full HD
- budget 4k
- decent battery life

Right now, the best option i have is Lenovo Y500.
Any lappy with 14inch that has Full HD and within this budget?
Mainly use for work. May need to run VMWare and lots of programming.

Care to share what other options available?

Thanks!

Do you mean there's a choice of option which is swappable graphic card / SSD / ODD / fan ?
*
Yes.. Y410p has swappable optical drive. Can swap with HDD or replace with 2nd GPU..

Very good budget.
If it is for "work", can consider those business class laptop already.
Some of these models has 4 RAM slots, so you could go 4x8G (32GB) RAM if you are so inclined to run your VM laugh.gif (edit: sorry, sorry, 4 RAM slots normally only in 15" model, 14" only 2 RAM slots so you could go 2x8=16GB)
And normally these business class laptop come with NBD on site warranty.

Dell
Latitude E5430, i5-3320M + Intel HD4000@RM3200, 4GB, 320GB(5400rpm), W7P (32-bit)/W8 Pro, 3 years pro support; [CPU Options: i5-3320M - i7-3520M], HD+ screen upgradable
Latitude E6430, i5-3320M + Intel HD4000@RM4300, backlit keyboard, 3 Years, W7P (32-bit); [CPU options: i5-3320M-i7-3720QM][GPU option: Nvidia NVS 5200M], HD+ screen upgradable

Lenovo
Thinkpad T430, i5-3210M + Intel HD4000 + (32GB SSD + 500GB)@RM4088, 4GB, W7P/W8, 3 years on-site warranty

HP
EliteBook 8470p, i5-3360M + AMD HD7570M@RM3999, 4GB, 750GB(7200rpm), W7P/W8, 3 years warranty

Prices are RSP, negotiable by quite a bit biggrin.gif

Thanks for the info.
With the same spec, it seems that only Dell has option for i7 processor?
What about HP and Lenovo? Any upgrade option to i7?

Sorry.. forgot to mention processor earlier..

All of these models are customisable. Talk to the resellers to find out more smile.gif
Buying business class laptop, prepare to do some leg work if you want to get the best deal tongue.gif (Some re-sellers may spec up a bunch of machines for a big clients but could not deploy all (for various reasons), and have plenty of left over stocks, and as a result you may be able to get some crazy deals laugh.gif)

Thanks for the heads-up!

Are you one of those re-sellers? hmm.gif

What do you mean by "always working with comport to other device"?

Dell
Vostro 5460, i3-3120M + HD 4000@RM1,549[1.54kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), Ubuntu 12.04, 3 cell; W8SL@RM1,749

Price is RSP, negotiable.
Has these port:
HDMI, RJ-45, 3xUSB 3.0, card reader, 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth v4.0 Combo .
*
I think his work requires COMM Port (RS232) to be able to communicate with other devices.

Having said that, I think bit difficult to find lappy with RS232 port nowadays. Might as well get a USB converter.
