1. Definitely! No matter how tight it is in the beginning, it will falter laugh.gif Never get a hinged notebook with touchscreen

2. What is future 4K video? LOL, sorry, not familiar with it...

3. Please follow the format if you need recommendations. I could just recommend a RM500 tablet and it might not even fit your usage LOL

Thanks for the reply.

1. No hinge. Got it.

2. I have to do some search (in the office), and found out that for AMD, anything above Radeon HD 7750 or above can render 4K imagery or video. Which means the latest A8 and A10 would be able to display 4K videos. Not sure about other graphic chip set though.

3. Its ok, thanks. Will post a request form in due course smile.gif

Thanks a million to all the pro here.

Preferred Brand - Any except Acer, HP.
2. Budget - Max RM3000
3. Usage - Mainly gaming (Dota2, SD gundam online-3D fps, CS online)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: Any as along as good for gaming view.
5. Additional details: Initially aiming for good GPU laptop, Lenovo Y series, widely recommended by sifus since V19 (well, i did homework before ask ). But later i found out my games are not really graphic demanding game, so i guess i better use the budget for normal lappy + upgrade for more smooth usage.

appreciate your recommendation & upgrade option.
** Can wait if there are models suits my need in next release (example: Haswell lappy)

Additional requirements:
1) Good heat dissipation
2) Wireless free problem (Using streamyx stock router@ground floor, lappy use at 1st floor room)
3) light weight (Usage 60%-desk, 40%- on leg/bed)
3) Stylish design (understand its subjective, but as long as looks good to you)
4) Able to play above games even if game requirement increased in next few years.

Thank you.

Hi all, i guess my thread was missed out, can any sifus recommend?
Also, currently i have a desktop PC of Intel P4 2.8GHZ, VIA motherboard with AMD HD3450 GPU. However, i will lag when play dota1 game. I tried updated the GPU driver from variety of version, but still problem not solved. I am thinking if its conflicted with the VIA motherboard of mine, any recommendation for solution?

Thank you.

Sometimes its not missed out, but that the sifus have no idea what to recommend because of too high requirements laugh.gif

For instance, you mentioned your games are not really demanding so don't need a very high-end graphic card, but the graphic card needs to be able to play games in the next few years, that's kind of countradicting right? laugh.gif
Same goes for wanting it to have good heat dissipation and performance but must be light weight and stylish at the same time (you need >RM4k for those kind of stuffs), nothing fits those criteria man laugh.gif

YOur best best will still be the Lenovo Y410p, but you're going to have to compromise on portability.
And you can upgrade to SSD later on when you have the budget so as to slightly reduce the weight, and also heat nod.gif

since you've done research, could you enlighten us any source materials that come in 4k video now or in foreseeable future? or even computer monitor or TV that support 4k video within reasonable price range?

I understand buyer want to be future proof. But this is getting ridiculous biggrin.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

The difference is in your highness 2nd post, your grace so considerately let everyone know that you only want to spend RM1k rolleyes.gif
But your holiness still need to enlighten us on what you mean on "light gaming", as commoner could not hope to grasp the insight in your infinite wisdom notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Asus
X201E, Intel B847 + Intel HD@RM999, 2GB, 500GB, FreeDOS, 1 year

And if your highness in your omnipotent reach of power could still find some old "netbook" model:

Acer
Aspire AOD270, Atom N2800 + Intel GMA 3650@RM1099, W7HB, free Acer pouch, colors: aquamarine/carnival
Aspire AO756s, Celeron 877 + Intel HD@RM1149, 2GB, 500GB, W8

Haswell is mostly about power consumption right? If my main concern is performance, then waiting for Haswell isn't that important?
