Its hard to say which one is preferable without knowing what you are looking for laugh.gif

The Z480 is a pretty old model already nod.gif

We are recommending Toshiba notebooks ah, just take a look in the earlier threads laugh.gif

my budget below Rm 3000.
Use for multimedia like non professional video, music or photo edit.
Watching online video..surfing web and normal gaming.
The full model for z480 is z480 5938-1868
With 3632QM 2.2 i7 CPU and win 8 64 bit. The shopper say is new product...with limited edition volume...isn't it?

For your usage, its better to opt for this one, with the latest (4th generation) processor some more, and a pretty decent graphic card nod.gif
14"
Lenovo Y410p, i7-4700MQ + GT750M(GDDR5)@RM2899, 8GB, 1TB, W8, red backlit, 120w psu, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty

The Z480 is running on a 3rd generation processor, so I wouldn't say its new lol.. and I don't think its limited edition. even if it is, its still not worth buying nod.gif

care to show me which shop is it? im gonna troll him. laugh.gif

with your budget, its likely impossible to get a high performance 17" laptop. so far, the one that is near your pricing is this :

Lenovo Ideapad G780, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M + (1600x900)@RM2299[3.0kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm); W7HP

for entry level ones, you should look at these :

MSI GE70, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GTX660M (2GB) + (1920x1080; anti-glare)@RM4299, 8GB, 1TB, W7HP, 2 years warranty, gaming mouse & backpack
Illegear RE-17, i7-4700MQ + Nvidia GTX765M + (1920x1080)@RM3799[Onkyo], 4GB, 500(5400rpm), FreeDOS [CPU Options: i7-4700MQ - i7-4900MQ

playable only on low settings.
you have to top up budget or select cheaper variants if you want to play games with high settings.

It's this type of irresponsible re-sellers that make normal consumers wary doh.gif
It's more like bottom-barrel cellar-clearing stock laugh.gif

If you like it, tell the re-seller you will pay RM1.7k for it. And said something like "don't you dare to give me display unit" laugh.gif

I was thinking to buy the newer Intel Haswell Processor, so far offering in UK is only the MSI, the Sony (Tablet and VAIO Pro) or Macbook Air.

Not sure if I should go for the Macbook as I am using one for myself currently (this is mean for my girlfriend). She would need to install some applications which is only supported by windows.

If you go for MBA, you could install bootcamp and run windows OS. It's actually "officially supported by Apple" laugh.gif
