I have the old 1996 version. Its size is small compared to the new space shuttle. However the old one got the launch pad and assembling building. To me the old one has more stuff to do than the new one which concentrate on the details of the shuttle. The new one can fit a couple instead of the old one where only 1 astronaut can ride inside the shuttle.



Looking at this picture makes me want to build my AA. I am surprised it can blend with the modular buildings very well! Now if you have enough bricks to build the rear portion then your AA can become a real corner modular building!

My latest haul and most recent contruction; the new Republic Gunship! The one thing that took me by surprise was the sheer size of it, it is HUGE! Since it is now only approx RM 650 compared to the RM 800+ few years back, this set is a must get!

The Gunship next to some Creator sets from early this year. Although it is very big, it is very swoosable and by the construction methods used the whole structure is very rigid and strong. So now falling apart when you swing it around the room. 



The Gunship with Padme, Anakin and others. There is alot of room for more troops and jedis. The 2 supers are just tagging along for the ride at the moment.


For some reason you get 2 super battle droids to play around with. I feel sorry that this 2 supers are wayyyyy outgunned in this set.

I re-edit my original post. I wanted to say it does not fall apart. Mana tau it turns out it can now fall apart. 

Dun worry, they fix the problem of falling apart already, lots of technic beams and pins to keep the bottom and top part in 1 piece.

The 2 cylinders does not fall of easily, quite well connected to the overall structure. They even added a little handle at the top like the republic venator set for you to carry around.

The 96 space shuttle comes with the launch pad, just that I didn't build it when I took the photo. Just wanted to compare the size of the shuttle to the new one.

Vintage sets are VERY dangerous, since there is a whole 3 decades worth of vintage sets to choose from. One of my favourites is this set from the late 80s.

One of the reasons I like this set so much is the sheer number of printed parts. You see all those Shell pieces? All those are printed. So do the arrows, clock etc. The only ones not printed are the newer minifigs and sets.

Better be resistant as once you got X-Wing and MF, you will get the DS, haha!

i am thinking if i should get a set of 8 deboxed. maybe cost rm50... not sure... but tempted altho i have no idea wat to do with 8 extra lone rangers or who the cavalry will be fighing with, since red indian minifigs are so damn expensive.

haha ya cos i check ad hoc and the only two i can think of is the chief big bear and the CMF S1 indian archer

now that u mention, S10 also got and should be cheap.

now u have given me reason to buy plenty of cavalry and plenty of indians to fight with. damn.

Lol it's all up to an individual on how they managed their finances. If they think they have the means to cover the cost of purchase, why not go ahead? But I know it's definitely a very dangerous cheat code to use

I didn't face such a problem, it is very sturdy and well built. I don't have the old version to make a comparison though. In fact, I would go as far to say the current generation of Lego Star Wars are very well built.

IMHO, MS is the most ridiculously priced set at this moment. But then this is my opinion only la, dont shoot me...
