hi. i bought an AP set XZ 2 months ago. today i cant turn on my phone after washing it using tab water (all flaps close properly). brought it to the shop. they say got water damage and cant do anything about it. they say if i bought ori set also cant claim warranty. they just advise to let the phone dry for a week. sigh, so much for a water resistent phone. now really regret buying this phone. anybody have any advice on what should i do?

If all the port indicator did not turn colour then one of the reason is that u expose the phone to a direct force of water. Example of this as small as a tap water pipe, and when jumping into a pool. Any water pressure will cause water to come in to the phone even if the flap is close. Me personaly, I wash my phone by facing down the phone from the pipe hole and slow down the water comming from the pipe. Remember people that this phone is WATER RESISTANCE NOT WATER PROOF! Well sorry that if I sounded rude but its the truth. And please do read the manual guys. Its all there.. Sorry to hear that some of u had spoil ur phone.

Indeed water can be forced in through other places, not the flap. Mine died because it went through the screen but dry on flaps. It doesn't do well on pressurized water, although it says it should with stand jets of water.

It can even withstand water jets. The high IP55 & IP57 rating means you can use it in the rain, take photos by the pool and easily clean it off from everyday spills and dirt. We even put Xperia Z in a dust chamber for rigorous testing, to make sure its operations were unaffected. http://www.sonymobile.com/my/products/phon...ures/#undefined

QUOTE(PPZ @ Aug 27 2013, 12:12 AM) I prefer matte compare to clear because of the fingerprint and also the oily sticky surface. Anyone came across sp which is clear and no fingerprint at all? QUOTE(evilhomura89 @ Aug 27 2013, 12:16 AM) You might wanna check out oleophobic SP I bought mine at lowyat dealer, IMOS SP. RM60 for the front part only. It has good resistant to fingerprint and oily hands, easy cleaning, oleophobic, not to mention it has clearer view. Worth the price IMHO.
