The Zeitgeist Movement describes itself as a sustainability advocacy group based on the belief that the "monetary-market" economy can be replaced with a system in which the Earth's resources are allocated by the scientific method.[5][vague] Members of the group believe in the elimination of money and private property.[6] Zeitgeist members say the current socioeconomic system is structurally corrupt and needs to be replaced with a system based on efficient and careful resource use through the technological potential of sustainable development.[7][8][9] The Zeitgeist group advocates renewable energy and computerized automatic systems on a global scale to provide free food and other necessities and perform most of the resource allocation.
