Hi guys,
I'm new to vaping (4 days old) and am using an Ego-T with CE5 clearomizer. Already felt the need to go for higher end models that can handle 50/50 liquids as the current tank is apparently not able to handle it well.
Any recommendations on which PV and tank to get? Budget around RM 500-600.
Thanks.

QUOTE(Seaedge @ Aug 13 2013, 07:08 PM) i would go for VV PV (Lambo, Vamo or iTaste) then a Vivi Nova Tank. Tried that on 50/50 liquid and performs well. but with your budget, i guess i leave to the otai or bangsawan to give u better option. Noted. Will research more on those mentioned. QUOTE(BestInTheWorld @ Aug 13 2013, 07:22 PM) RM500-600 you can get a good mech mod bro..try and join vapers malaysia open group in fb..a lot of sellers there.. Ohh.. mech mods. Sounds interesting. Thanks.

Noob question. What is the major difference between mech and electronic PV? Sorry ah, just started less than 1 week but I'm totally off analogs now. In fact it smells downright terrible to me now.

My current setup with a IGO-W single wick, kanthal 30 AWG with 4 wraps, 2.5mm wick. Most examples on the Internet uses the center and the right pole while I prefer this setup which gives me 1 ohm and an extra tail to the other side of the tank to suck up more juice. Enlarged the air holes to about 1.5mm and it vapes like a steam engine now. 20130915_142207 by Alex C O Lim, on Flickr

QUOTE(vccy118 @ Sep 18 2013, 03:56 PM) huh... microcoil super hard to do! anyone got any pointers? Did exactly as shown in various youtube videos, but tak jadi EDIT: Figured it out... used 2mm drill bit to coil end up get 5 ohm... down to 1.5mm drill bit, got 2.2 ohm... not perfect but already better than normal coils! 2.2 ohms? Isn't that a bit high for dripper and mech mods? BTW, where are you able to buy those drill bits at 1.5 and 2 mm? Most hardware shops around my area don't carry such small sizes.

QUOTE(wadefak @ Sep 20 2013, 09:48 AM) if ure a casual vaper, its a good mod to own. but if ure a chain vaper, likes to recoil ur tanks to low ohms, its best to look for other mods. pro's - excellent firing with both vv and vw options. great for casual vapers who vape just a few puffs per session con's - heats up quickly especially with low resistance tanks. few puffs and the heat warning sign comes up. a big no for chain vapers as the control head will be easily damaged Thanks for sharing. Just curious as the features seems good with software upgrade and all. QUOTE(DarkEmotion88 @ Sep 20 2013, 10:01 AM) dammit my forge tank threading doesn't fit with chi you. The forge tank uses an EGO thread? If then you need to get a 510 to EGO converter ring.

QUOTE(arremie @ Sep 20 2013, 10:50 AM) i would like to try dripping. can anyone recommend me a good rda out there preferably something with 22 or 23 mm in width. I'm using a IGO-W dripper RBA. Fits the top of the Chi You just flushed.

QUOTE(arremie @ Sep 20 2013, 11:03 AM) thanks. let me read some review. dont quite like the shiny part though. prefer brushed ss no finger print. Get some of those green color things that you use to clean pots and brush it yourself.

QUOTE(wadefak @ Sep 20 2013, 02:43 PM) just check the 510 connector material 1st. if i'm not mistaken both m16 and private v2 clones are using aluminium. the material is quite soft so it'll be easier to be loose in the future. try n look for ss material. just the 510 connector part. if u use a normal battery, average resistance tanks without stacking batteries, ure safe. Average resistance as in which level?

QUOTE(wadefak @ Sep 20 2013, 02:49 PM) 0.8 above should be fine. 1 ohm n above to be safe. the most important thing is not to stack ur batts. lol QUOTE(ekudz @ Sep 20 2013, 02:56 PM) dont stack battery huhu!! bad experience ... Thanks both for your advise. My IGO-W gets kind of hot sometimes when I chain vape and on the Vamo it gives a 02 error message making me paranoid that the battery will explode on my Chi You. I think I must have dropped my Vamo on the table too many times and it's starting to act up now.

QUOTE(ekudz @ Sep 20 2013, 03:02 PM) safe side setup with 1.2ohm and above .. or try microcoil .. I find that at 0.9-1.1 ohms is the sweet spot for me.

QUOTE(vccy118 @ Sep 20 2013, 03:14 PM) Try Microcoil my 1.8 ohm microcoil setting on my genesis tank is as good as 0.8 ohm setting I plan to as soon as I can go find a 2 - 3 mm drill bit or something of similar size. QUOTE(wadefak @ Sep 20 2013, 03:18 PM) igo w has 3 poles kan? not sure about the 02 error because i never used a vamo b4 but i think it should still be ok if the resistance is within that range. not sure about vamo's board but if the resistance is within that range on an evic and u use it constantly, sure evic board will kaput The Vamo will refuse to fire if the resistance is below 1.2 ohms but due to my carelessness I have dropped it while putting it on table tops quite a few time so I guessed I might have knocked something loose inside.

QUOTE(vccy118 @ Sep 20 2013, 03:31 PM) Your resistance wire how much AWG? Old and small hardware stores usually got small drill bits. Remember to request for steel drilling one so can use to bore airholes as well. I'm using AWG 30 kanthal now. Might have to go out to get some 28 instead for micro coiling. QUOTE(Ah WanG @ Sep 20 2013, 03:32 PM) wanna ask, u oll using low ohm or subohm, the mod will heat up very fast right previously i using 2.5ohm.. then i changed to 1.6ohm.. the mod heat up faster compare 2.5ohm.. and the juice oso burn up faster how u oll overcome these heat up and juice burn faster issue? Like vccy118 said, U can't overcome it but at the correct settings, flavour and vape will be the best. Adjust air hole sizes to get the throat hit / vapor production ratio that you want.

QUOTE(wadefak @ Sep 20 2013, 03:39 PM) boss apa itu subohm liao i kenot brain but if ure using mech mods, normal la. V=IR. lower resistance with constant voltage produces higher wattage which results in more heat emission. if ur using vv or vw mods u can always tune down the voltage to reduce the heat. if u want to overcome the heat on mech mods, coil ur tank on higher resistance. or use weak batt or use kick on the mod would also reduce the heat. Sub-ohm is referring to resistance of 1 ohm and below. I have friends who vapes on 0.5 - 0.6.

QUOTE(mengfart @ Sep 22 2013, 12:33 AM) Oo.. should I change it to a tank? it's so troublesome. Need to keep drip and I don't know how much should I put. Keep sucking in the liquid. = = If you are sucking up the liquid then you have dripped too much. Try using less and learn how to coil your own wicks to find the best fit for yourself.

QUOTE(mengfart @ Sep 22 2013, 12:53 AM) so if I want those that produce alot of vapor what do you recommend? btw, how should I insert the batteries? positive facing the firing or opposite? On my chi you 1:1 the positive is facing top firing pin. If you are not sure of what you are doing, suggest you attend a vape meet and learn more from the experienced users otherwise you might overload the battery and there's a possibility of explosion if that happens.

QUOTE(mengfart @ Sep 22 2013, 01:03 AM) hmm.. alright then. Explosion? ok now I'm scared. = No need to be scared. Search Google or Youtube for information on your mod. Batteries won't explode unless you stress them for too long but inserting them the wrong way will make them fire without pressing the trigger so be careful.

QUOTE(aimank_88 @ Sep 22 2013, 04:53 AM) Almost all mods, positive is top, negative is bottom. Positive pole is up because ur tank is on the top, thus it needs the current to fire. The body is the negative/grounding, so thats why negative side of the battery is bottom. The Novice requires that the battery be inserted with the positive facing down which sometimes causes the device to fire accidently. A friend of mine had that problem but a small washer solved the problem for him. And it has an option to add a tank too.
