I'm thinking of finally giving in and starting WoW, despite it being the end of the expansion. I'll shamelessly admit that I've played in a few private servers, but I quickly got bored due to having very little players and/or a dead community in general.

A few quick questions:

1) Which server are Malaysians at? I hear Gundrak US and Saurfang US. I'm looking for a server that is decently populated (not too dead, but not too long login queues) with an active AH and a community that is alive. I speak fluent English and Malay, but when I speak Cantonese I sound like gwei lo.

2) What is the community like? I hope they aren't mostly populated by 13-year old l33t Sp34kErz.

3) Any lag problems for people living in KL? I have Unifi.

4) Can I purchase a one-year card? Would it be worth it?

5) Are there any active guilds? I'm looking for a semi-hardcore raiding/PvP guild. Not too strict, but has an organized roster and all.

Thanks for the reply.

How are the login queues in Gundrak? Are they very long?

And what about Horde to Alliance ratio. Don't want be stomped or stomp in every PvP match.

Is there a lot of area contesting? Like outdoor PvP. What about city raids?

I like both PvE and PvP. But PvP is certainly more exciting. smile.gif

Yeap, planning to roll either a Disc priest or a Bear tank. Maybe a moonkin. Used to play Ret Paladin in an old private server. I played once in TBC and they sucked really bad. But in WotLK, they were OP like crazy.

Any Alliance players from Gundrak US here? I'd like to hear your side of the story too.

Oh and, I may not decide to undertake the RoF program. I'd like to level normally and take my time to read the story and all. As useless/cheesy it may sound, I think quest descriptions are actually pretty interesting.
