I use Asus P5RD1-VM Ati200 all in one mobo. It does not have any vcore adjustment.

I can achieve 3.6G. Asus probe reading 1.18-1.25v. Which is way below the 1.4v default.

Full load of folding with 8 clients is like 40c at day time and 35c at night time. No air cond.

Also, for PD8xx , there are 2 versions. 1 is revision A0. 1 is revision B0. The PD805 is B0. Which is much cooler. I previously have a PD830 rev A0. At 3.6G and same 8 clients folding, the temperature is 90c. I can feel the hot air coming out. Good to dry my cloth if urgent.

Now, the air coming out from the heatsink is not hot at all. It is only as hot as my forehead.

Smithfield is 2 x Prescott. Intel married the 2 Prescott and they are call Smithfiled.

Nope. Just Ninja with 100cfm fan. But open casing.

I think for P4/PD Prescott cpu, it is the voltage that make the temperature high.

My mobo cannot adjust the vcore. And some how, the vcore is quite low. But it still manage to go 3.6G 24/7 folding stable.

While I notice many people oc the PD805 to around 4.0-4.2G, but increase the vcore to >1.45v, the temperature goes quite high. More than 50c.

I am assuming that a little bit of vcore increse, makes the temperature goes unpropotionally high. While a little bit of lower vcore, makes the temperature unpropotionally low.

I am not regret that I can only go to 3.6G. Because the usual max limit of P4/PD Prescott is about 4G under normal air cool condition.

I won't be greedy to want to get that extra mhz. At least I know I can sleep well knowing that my temperature is cooler than my body temperature.

I do have PD805 with Ninja.

Using Asus P5RD1 DDR1 mobo with built-in x300se. No vcore. No vdimm. No voltage adjustment at all. Can change FSB.

Currently at 175fsb for 3.5G. Voltage is default, but is between 1.18v - 1.23v. Temp fully loaded with folding is below 45c. Can be as low as 38c if at night and raining.
