Hi there,

Need some advice from fellow watch enthusiast. I got an old Orient watch, possibly purchased during the late 70's. It seems like still working even though it has been left in a box for almost 10 years. I tried gave it a good shake, and it ran for a day plus, even the date and day indicator still work.

I want to know how much it cost to service it, replace the badly scratch glass with a mineral one, and fix the watch clasp.

The watch: Orient 3 Star Automatic 21 Jewels, case on the back showed "GS469714-8B PR". I Googled around, it seems to be using the classic Orient 46943 movement. The only thing broken is the watch clasp.

Lack of marketing!
Orient belongs to Seiko group, though Seiko not killing the brand I doubt they will inject funds for it to compete with Seiko.

Less popular is good thing, u not spending money into their marketing spending. Or u the kind who likes that

from collector point of view, lack of marketing is not an issue. only aesthetics, reliability, and engineering that count.
