apple imac, how to format

i have an old skool apple imac.....it cant use....when i wanna oturn on the imac it apper the mach logo and restart again......could you tell me what the probleem...and how to solve it

just put in your system discs and restart. if you cant get your cd drive open hold down the mouse button (i think) and it should when you restart. but i would choose erase and install. its better. it will delete EVERYTHING. DONT SAY I DIDNT WARN YOU though =). hope that works
