Ok, this is a little bit out of topic but still mirror related. Does anyone knows how to prevent mirrors from looking oily? I have a large mirror (from floor to ceiling) next to my kitchen and I noticed that despite minimal cooking, the mirror still occasionally looks oily. I have hood which unfortunately is a recyclable type and I can't do anything to change that as there is no outlet for the ducting.

Use those 'non sticky' cloth with detergent to wipe the mirror 1 time, follow by using newspaper wipe again. You mirror will shine as new now.

Non sticky? I use microfiber cloth to wipe and I do use newspaper as well after that if there is still oily streaks. I am wondering if there is anything tht I can apply on the mirror so that dust/oil will not stick to it. Maybe I will give softener a try.

Oil is gone after cleaning. But after a few weeks it will look oily again. Quite fed up of having to clean it so frequently. πŸ˜€

Ow....that means the oil is due to the cooking.
Maybe you can ask mirror supplier any coating that can prevent oil sticking. Just like some of the handphone screen protector.
