The new htc one andns4 google edition has a new camera

Cn download from below link

Just install as normal apk.
If using aosp rom, this app needs to replace your aosp camera.
Make a backup then delete the aosp gallery app in /system/apps
Then install the apk as normal.

If using touch wiz rom, or other skins, it should not replace your stock camera.

Tested working on s3 smile.gif
Animation is super slick.
And photosphere works too.

This camera really disappointing.

Short review after playing with it the whole night.

Good
-nicer UI
-capture animation is slicker and gives illusion of faster shutter speed
-photosphere able to capture 41 images for both landscape and portrait. No more black holes at top and bottom when use landscape mode

Bad
-no photosphere stitching in the background. Making the process slow. Lets say you take one photosphere, and continue with the 2nd sphere. The first sphere won't process in the background. Gallery app must be open for it to start stitching.
If I take 3 consecutive sphere, when I go back gallery to view, then only the first sphere start to stitch, and have to wait a long time for all 3 tone ready. Previous version already finish stitching 1st and 2nd sphere cos they will stitch in the background.

-photosphere no longer stitch as good. Quality greatly reduce. I take lots of photosphere, and I achieve good results with this method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ls6MOyUpcg
But this method no longer yield good results. With old version I'd say 90-100% good stitching, but new version is 60-80%. And it shows my legs too at the bottom. Previous version somehow knows how to cancel off the my leg, making a beautiful sphere.

-now this is the biggest flaw that cause me uninstall this. The focus ring doesn't display red when it fail to focus, it ALWAYS show green only even it fail to focus. I won't know whether my pic is in focus or not. This is terrible!

-rotation lag is STILL there when changing orientation from portrait to landscape.

I am very very disappointed with google. Apple improving while they are getting basic things wrong :-(

i have taken more than 20 photosphere yesterday.
for new cam, landscape mode results better stitch than portrait, but the final quality still pales in comparison to the old cam.

i notice you have some dark sports, especially the upper right. you may have miss some dots,
in both mode, there should be 41 dots to capture.

check the tutorial video in my previous post, using that method will produce great spheres.

that's a nice shot. you should share it on google maps.

to share a photosphere on maps, install google maps,
enable location in camera before taking the picture.
from gallery, share via maps to upload.

here you can check photosphere captured by people all over the world
