I want to do an internship in Malaysia but I am not Malay. Legal job in Malaysia requires certain visa with a work permit. If I do an internship do I need to be employed? Have anyone done an internship and want to share her/his experience I need to know if there is any chance to get a work experience (and get a document confirming that fact from the company) without being employed? (and would it be still legal?) THX

QUOTE i once did my on job training at eurocopter malaysia and there many internship from around the world Could you tell me how people applied? Did they start working before sorting visa stuff? I guess that was the company's idea to get people from abroad? This post has been edited by jakusej: May 10 2006, 04:30 AM

What is your nationality? I believe that for different nationality there are different restrictions in terms of work. But if you are still a student and thus wanting to apply for an internship these legalities are a little more laxed.

QUOTE(iZuDeeN @ May 10 2006, 12:34 PM) apply job first... after you get confirmation of getting the intern program then only apply for visa... The problem is that it is not only me who have to undertake certain steps when applying for visa - it is the employer in the first place! I am afraid that there are no companies willing to get involve in all the hassle of my visa just to have a student for four months - do you know what I mean? I was kind of hoping there are other ways, but I guess there are no legal ones...

Are you a student? If you are, you should contact your school's administration for more information.

No my friend. They don't give a damn. I have to find myself a placement and afterwards submit documents stating that I did my internship - that is all they care about.
