Enermax ELC 240 All In One liquid cooler

First of all, i would like to thank DotaTech IT Enterprise for giving me the chance to play with Enermax new AIO (All in One) liquid cooler, ELC 240. Different from custom water cooling system, Enermax ELC 240 combined pump, reservoir and water block together and achieve a decent cooling performance. Why use AIO liquid cooler? Much more quiet and decent performance compare to huge air cooler and maintenance free compare to custom water cooling system. Besides, it also look more aesthetics at least for somebody.

Only one version of ELC 240 is available in our local store. You can get it with the dealer listed below :
- Lingloong (DotaTech IT)
-Zhen^wei (IdealTech)
- Yoongkeen (IdealTech)
- APES.my

INSTALLATION :
1. Screw both fans into the radiator with the fan screws and install it into your casing top panel (which most people do) with case screws
user posted image

2. Check if there's clearance between the fan and RAM heatsink, motherboard heatsink or 4/8 pin EPS connector.

TESTING :

- Max fan speed set at 1800RPM with PWM function (most acceptable noise level)
- Ambient temperature around 34°c
- Idle temperature ( web surfing, CPU-Z, Realtemp-GT )
- Full load temperature ( Prime95 blend test )
- No other fan as intake/exhaust
- Closed casing

Testbed :
Intel i5 2500k Sandy Bridge LGA1155
ASUS P8P67 Deluxe Rev3.0
GSkill Ripjaws X DDR3 1600Mhz 4GBx2
Corsair Carbide 400R Mid Tower ATX casing
Corsair TX650M PSU

Comparison :
Do take note that these results took under different ambient temperature. All the fan is under PWM controlled.

CONCLUSION :
With a bigger surface area 240mm radiator, this AIO liquid cooler did a outstanding performance to PC enthusiast. For overclockers, this may cool down your CPU to a decent temperature. It requires no maintenance unlike custom water cooling and still looks good inside your casing. However, it may be some difficulty with installation in some budget casing due to the top clearance issue. With the pricing at RM399 free shipping within WM, it clearly defeats a lot of CPU cooler in the market with this outstanding performance.

PROS :
- Silent operation
- Great cooling performance
- Maintenance free
- Easy installation
- Adjustable fan speed

CONS :
- No 'bling bling' LED on the fan
- Unable to fit in most of the budget casing due to clearance
- Pre-applied thermal paste on the block

Ya, 32mm + 25mm fan thickness. So not much casing compatible with this

check out my sig i got thermalright silverarrow review too, for me silverarrow installation is way harder than ELC240
but no doubt performance is better, and the noise is quite loud compare to this AIO. h100i i no try before but i heard that the noise is quite loud too

yes, but my case, raven rv-02 was quite spacious and provided ample space to install the silver arrow easily. the only issue i face is the RAM. after installing the cooler, I cannot remove my ram anymore. lol...

its not really loud, in fact for the same temperature, it is quieter compared to the ALC or H100i. it uses 2x140mm fan at 1500rpm which is quieter compared to 120mm fan in h100 or alc240.

Another budget case that can fit the rad + fans is bitfenix outlaw. But, if do that, cannot go for sli/xfire anymore tongue.gif
