most 12v fans will work at 5v. unless theyre high amp fans then chances of working at 5v are less...
example... i have 4 Delta FFB1212EHE (3.0A each).... only ONE will work at 5v... the other 3 wont work at 5v...even at 7v it wont work. some fans will work at 5v if u manually kick start the blades (the lower voltage not enough to kick the fans to start spinning on spinning) but the 3 FFBs will not work even if i manually spin it up...itll just die. Oh I see. If I want to mod it to work with an power adaptor, can I purchase a proper connector socket to reduce mess? Is there such thing for sale? Sorry for all these weird questions, I'm a noob in modding.

i think u can use the yellow and black wire from molex to make it 5v...red and black for 12v...

owh ic...i tod molex pin no 1 and 2 for 12v...for 5v using pin no 3 and 4...if u said im wrong again i will change my fan wire asap...
