Hello,

I bought the A706 2 days ago.
Your staff was prompt in delivery & we COD @ LowYat.

I tested the phone for 2 days now & I'm sorry but I'll have to ask for 1 to 1 replacement.

When using the supplied headset, people can't hear my voice & I can't hear them - even with max volume.
Same thing when I use another headset which works fine on my old Nokia.

Without headset, people complain they hears multiple echos of my voice & some kind of electronic distortion.
Tried calling different mobile & fixed lines - same thing.

I sent you several sms today but you haven't replied yet.

Do you think I could get the replacement tomorrow?

Problem solved .. !!

Seller (Mr Tang) called & we met up @ Shamelin Mall earlier at 8 pm.
He checked the phone & made few test calls with & without the headset.
Kinda embarrassing to report that the problems are not exactly phone-related. It worked fine. So what was the problem?

1. Headset

Even when using another headset, I did not push the plug all the way in. Unlike my old Nokia, this A706 need a gentle but firm push once you plug the headset plug.
I.e. plug it in THEN push it in again. The phone will then work fine with headset.

2. Multiple echos & electronic distortion

Probably network-related issue (Celcom line quality). When we tested the phone to several parties, we heard their voices quite well - and they heard ours also without echos or distortions.
On hands-free, there were a slight echo but not as bad as before.

3. Seller appeared unresponsive to sms & calls

My fault here. Since it was a new phone I manually keyed in his tel no. & instead of just putting in 0132747777 I erroneously added the prefix '6' n front - making the no. 60132747777.
By right, it should be +60132747777 ---> notice the '+' there. Or even just plain 0132747777 without any '6' prefix.

What does this mean?

So whatever sms I sent to him probably ended up in Twilight Zone. Sure my phone recorded the sms as 'Sent' but not to his tel ... he did not received any.
And when I called him @ 60132747777 when he was sitting right next to me, the calls immediately dropped & his phone does not ring or record any miss call.
After removing the prefix, I was able to call him.

I checked & noticed that I've also used the prefix '6' for my daughters & sons tels. Sure enough, they didn't received my sms nor was I able to call them.
After deleting the prefix '6' .... Voila ! I can call & sms them.

Conclusion :-

Trustworthy & very patience seller.
He asked me to call him again if there's any problem & he assured me that he will replace the phone 1 to 1 within next 3 days if it is defective.
So will I trade with him again in future?

I think he's the 'Online-only' kinda business. No idea what.
Just tell him what you need & he'll deliver it to you either via courier or COD @ his favorite spot - Times Square.
And yes, he can deliver right to your doorsteps for a nominal charge.
