I have never go for woman healthy check up or visit a gynaecologists.

Am planning to go for a check up, as every woman have to check up once a year.
but I dont want to visit a male gynaecologists, i feel uncomfortable with it and kinda embarrassing to take of pant in front a man.

Where can i find a female gynaecologists in KL/Subang area and not too expensive.
I don't know what the price of one normal check up as well, May i know what is the average price for one visit?

I just wanna go for check up like period unstable or private part virus infection problem.

Please any info or help. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

Is this news about her?

PETALING JAYA: A female doctor lost her left thumb to an armed robber in front of a polyclinic in Jalan SS19/6, Subang Jaya near here early Tuesday.

Subang Jaya police chief Yahaya Ramli said the victim, in her 50s, also sustained severe injuries on her left arm after being slashed with a machete by the robber in the 1.20pm incident.

She was walking to her car in front of the polyclinic when the robber attacked her before snatching her handbag and fleeing the scene.

"The suspect is believed to have fled the scene on his accomplice's motorcycle," he said when contacted here.

He said the victim was taken to Sime Darby Medical Centre for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.

The police are tracking down the suspects and the case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code, he added. - Bernama

Male gynecologists see countless female patients daily, so there's nothing
to be uncomfortable about, really.

My classmate, Dr Ravichandran, is the head of the O & G department of Gleneagles,
and very experienced, highly rated even among expatriates.

It won't be cheap obviously, but if you wish to see him, you could try mentioning
my name, Tham Wai Keong, and perhaps he may give you some discount.

Otherwise, most hospitals will have a resident female gynecologist.

Hmm, believe Columbia's Gyne should be quite professional
Reasonable cost & not too bad service. (not cincai la, at least)
It's time for me to test the pap smear too.

Mine is Dr Catherine Loo..

Her clinic is at Jalan Selangor..nearby Assunta Hospital. She owns a clinic...

You may want to make an appointment earlier cause there are quite a lot of patients at times, especially the weekends. =D

well i have been going to this female doctor in klinik wanita metro, ss15 , subang jaya. i'm half way through my pregnancy and her care and followup is very good. my husband is a british and he is very particular about proper explanation and its not that easy to convince him. for the first time ever, he was very happy with the service and gave no comments. the doctor even offer free classes for pregnant women even if they are not her patient. the classes are really helpful...its interesting with useful facts, interactive and in small groups. charges were reasonable for consultation. by the way, her name is Dr Suganthee.

I just sent my wife over to Dr. Suganthee also last Friday. She was really attentive and also friendly and explains A-Z patiently.
Since wife tested positive with the preg tester, so just wanna get confirmation and scanning. total bill rm150 for consultation, scanning and picture provided although not much can be seen as she's js 4 weeks preggy.

Well, for you information, Dr Suganthe is not a fully qualified Gynaecologist. She is a medical officer with experience in Obsterics and Gynaecology.
Always check to see if a gynaecologist is registered as a Specialist first.

Always check to see if a gynaecologist is registered as a Specialist first. So not every female doctor is a Gynae doctor. They are just female and a doctor.
Charges can thus be cheap or reasonable as per non-specialist consultation.

Speaking from a husband, I feel really uncomfortable with a male gyn checking my wife. Thus prefer female gyn. Unless in emergency which dictates otherwise.

Heard of stories from my friend when he was doing his BMBS about female patients. Believe me, male doctors are also human and natural "desires" are very hard to put aside even in the name of professionalism.

My 2 cents.

Well, your immature friend certainly has chosen the wrong profession, if he feels his
carnal desires overcoming him each time he examines a female patient, and should
consider switching to a more mundane field.

If you are so terrified that a male gynecologist might seduce your wife or has
''unprofessional thoughts'' when he examines her, your only reassurance would
be to stick with a female one.

In case you did not realize, men do not specialize in gynecology with the ulterior
motive of the opportunity to look at a woman's genitals.

Gynecology is not that ''exciting'', let alone pleasant, a field as you might envision.
One has to examine women of ALL ages, and in many cases, DISEASED ones,
day in, day out.

Some years ago, there was an incident in which a gynecologist friend was consulted
by a young Chinese girl, and a very pretty one at that, for vaginal odor.

When she took off her undies on the examining table, the stench emanating
was so horrendous that his accompanying nurse actually FAINTED.

Apparently she was carrying a dead fetus.

Tell your friend to think about that the next time he examines a woman.

No offence intended with my reply earlier. Just want to complete the story from a husband's point of view.

Can tell that you are in the medical field.

I was not implying that male gyn went into that field for that hidden motive.

Yes, there are not so nice/horrible things in every job. Gyn not exempted.

On my friend, he is one of the best doctors I have encountered in the medical field. I take your remark as an offence to him.

Cheerio.

Hi all,

I have just brought my gf to see a gynae in serdang (ct woman &child specialist). Her menstrual was late by 2 months plus and we were worried whether was it due to any medical complications. When the gynae suggested hormone check I wasn't expecting a whopping rm370 fee to pay up (including rm80 consultation fee). We have no experiences in consulting gynae and would like a clarification qhther the price is justifiable. Please and thanks.

Possibly. Usually a basic ultrasound + consultation can go as high as 250 with some places. If there's medication involved, it will be more. Bear in mind you're seeing a specialist and not a GP.

I had a cyst removed in 2012, done by Dr Tang BN of SDMC, Subang. The med that was used cost a whopping 1k. Paid by insurance, of course, as there was a surgery involved.
