Different people, different terms.
Investment is more on the yields - dividends and growth of dividends over a long period of time. People who invest rarely sell their shares unless there has been a change in the company's fundamental and core advantages.
Trading focuses more on capital appreciation over a short term period of time. Short term is subjective. It's up to your interpretation.
