QUOTE(Icehart @ Jul 12 2013, 05:34 PM) Different people, different terms. Investment is more on the yields - dividends and growth of dividends over a long period of time. People who invest rarely sell their shares unless there has been a change in the company's fundamental and core advantages. Trading focuses more on capital appreciation over a short term period of time. Short term is subjective. It's up to your interpretation. I would say investors are after both dividend and capital appreciation. OTOH, in markets which allow it, traders would do short selling too.

QUOTE(Brico @ Jul 19 2013, 03:51 PM) Is there any corellation between falling REIT prices and actual property demand. Does this indicate that property pricing is on it way down. AFAIK, increase in interest rate will affect both property sectors and REIT, but in different ways. Property - lower demand REIT - since REITs must distribute 90% of their income, they rely heavily on bank loan for capital expenditure (though right issues and private placement are two other options).

1) Genting Highlands still has indoor theme park. 2) GENTING & GENM have other assets which will generate income.
While no doubt income will be affected, I would like to know the extent...
