Here big banks and small banks can difference by 100% ... bigger bank is deemed more secure hence able to low their FD rate. Smaller banks need more money hence give high rate and other promotion to attract deposits.

I think i posted this before. year ending 9 is actually the biggest bull. haha. this year is also bull year.
1) the years ending with 3, 6, 9 are usually bull years.
2) among these 3 years, year ending with 9 has the biggest gain in history with 30% -175% gain, followed by 3 with 30% - 100% gain, and 6 with 18% - 22% gain.
3) years ending with 1 and 5 are the worst performing years with year end closing price below or equal to the beginning price.
4)  years ending with 7 and 8 tend to have stock crashes with the exception of 1988.

Personally I think it is a good move, even if MBSB is not under the purview of the central bank. They plan to get a banking license within this or next year so sooner or later also have to be under purview of central bank. 
Now they need to raise capital through rights issue and dividend reinvestment plan.

Once they have their banking license then we'll talk about possibility in merger between MBSB and RHB banks. 

MBSB can 25 years because they are not banks.

Banks only can 10 years for personal loan.

Meaning MBSB is standing in a very good position and winning all others conventional banks.

I don't understand some route like Pg-Sg, MAS doesn't have direct flight at all.

Passenger want to go to Sg, either take Airasia or Silkair.
Silkair has 4-5 flight daily from Pg-Sg, if this is not profitable route, I do not think Silkair has so many flight daily.

Bare in mind, a return flight ticket of Silkair range from Rm500-800. This is only an hour flight journey.
So why Mas do not offer such a route?

Other than the reasons given by Jason Toh and MilesAndMore, another possible explanation is that SIN is the hub for Silkair, but Penang is not the hub for MAS.

You can fly to Bangkok from Penang on AirAsia, but that's FD, not AK.

If you running a businees like MBSB, wont you feel risky? lending high amount money to those low income group with long pay back period..............quite risky I feel

anyway, it might a good news for MBSB..........as they are requirement that formal bank only allow offer 10 years personal loan, MBSB will meet this requirement, chance of convert to bank is higher
