Hello everyone,

I'm a new Kelisa owner here. Purchased 2004 Kelisa 1.0 EZ (Auto), done 133000Km for 15K in April 2014.

Now the problem with this vehicle is that the engine is a bit noisy & it is giving fuel average of only 7-8 Km/L in city driving sad.gif

According to the service sticker, oil change was done at 130000Km. What could be the problem here?

Noise is quite common for a 3 line engine....maybe the oil used is not that good? How is the noise like though? YOur FC is bloody high. Something is definitely wrong cuz mine is clocking at 14km/litre on average....
*
Thanks for the reply, it is just a lot louder than other Kelisa's that I have heard. Engine noise a lot louder. I live in Shah Alam where there are steep climbs so I was guessing the FC will be around 10-12 but 7-8 is way too low!!

Not sure what engine oil was used the last time, but I'm planning to get it changed at 135000 instead of 140000 that is mentioned on the service sticker.

What engine oil do you use?

Used a few but caters to which you like

Castrol Mag 10/40. Engine is well taken care of. Mileage is from 370-420 per full tank. Response is quite alright especially after first 500km.

ENEOS Ecotouring 5/30 semi syn. Engine is smooth, pick up is good. 400-450 per full tank. Response will become slightly lower after 2000km.

Maybe you need to send your Kelisa for checking. If the engine sound is too loud it could be your RPM.
*
Nah, RPM can't be the issue. On idle it is at 850-900, not high. I guess i'll get it serviced at 135000Km instead of the scheduled 140000Km, and see what is the issue.

Thanks

time to service the rear drum.. could be sticky
spark plugs?  way tooo low FC.  get a 10/40 oil.. like what the other guy said, first 500km is heavy engine, then will be fine till 5000km... i put in previous 10/40 shell hx5 and catrol 10/40... quite ok so far. last till 7500km. petronas or perodua oil abit thin, after 3000km will thin out making engine louder.
*
Won't know the issue until I get it serviced at 135000Km.

I read in another forum that resetting the ECU helps in getting the FC right and improving performance, done by taking the battery plug out for 10-15mins or removing the EFI fuse out. Anyone tried that?

Dont bother waiting till that mileage. You'll damage it even worse. I FUBAR-ed my gearbox for so long thinking I'll change it the next mileage, and it cost me a bomb to change to a new one. That affected other things in my engine due to nt repairing it. Now my suspension and axle also giving problem....whole car starts to vibrate at 80km speed, and if it is at 30-40km speed, my car moves left and right....like im in a rocking chair

Yea, my friend did it. Its quite simple.
*
Yeah I guess I'll get it done sooner.

How was your friend's experience with resetting the ECU? Any improvement in performance?

Resetting ECU is just going back to factory setting. It can be considered a refresh if you have trouble with your engine. So if yours is giving a lot of FC, it could improve it =)

did mine also, not on purpose though. was cleaning the battery point. car like good oomph la... then reverted back to normal. but it might help clean out some static in your ECU  figuratively speaking.  tongue.gif

So I guess I should give a try to resetting the ECU. How much average are you getting yorkhan?

o2 sensor was it changed before? if not then this should be the culprit............

Not sure about that, the dealer didn't say anything about it. How to check it?

QUOTE(yorkhan @ Sep 11 2014, 08:09 PM)
ummm.... was driving highway 80% all the time. getting around 5.8l/100km  ..speed was 100kph. manual 1.0
*
That is a great average that you are getting!! I just did a full tank run to check the average & now I'm getting 9.6km/l or 10.42l/100km.

Hi all, just had a new issue with my 2004 Kelisa 1.0 (A) Ezi.

This happened twice, both times the car started & ran fine. I went to some place, switch off the car & when I come back it won't start. ECU & engine light show up but the battery light won't show.

Both times I get out of the car, close the doors & lock the car using the remote. And then open it up again, switch on & it will start normal as if nothing happened. All light turn up & start in one switch.

Battery I guess is fine as it always starts in the morning, it is only after I switch it off at some place & then switch on that it causes the problem.

What could be the issue here? unsure.gif

Hello everyone!!

Anyone here know any good and trustworthy mechanic for Kelisa service? Want to change the engine oil, oil filter, air filter and possibly the spark plug as well.

Also kindly tell what brand & grade oil to put? Brand for oil filter, air filter & plugs.

Thanks!!

Hello to all Kelisa users. I need your advice or cost estimates on Kelisa service.

I have a 2004 Kelisa 1.0 EZi, done approx 140300Km. Will go over the weekend and get the following done:

- Engine Oil Change
- Oil Filter Change
- Air Filter Change
- Engine Tuning
- Complete Brake Service (Front & Back, pads change & oil topup)
- Wheel Balance
- Wheel Alignment
- Labour Charges?

Need your suggestions on what might be the item-wise cost estimate. Thanks!!

EO, Oil Filter, Air Filter - buy from shop. Cheaper by RM10-RM15 a piece.

Brake pads - RM90/set (both sides calipers I think)

Wheel balance + alignment  = RM50-60

Labour - RM60 at highest since there's no craning

All in all, give at most RM300++ RM400(Semi synth EO), RM300++RM350 (Mineral). Engine tuning...never did it.

Thanks [F]atalit[Y] for the reply!! I have got the following estimates from a shop in Shah Alam, Section 24.

1) shell helix hx5 10w30 rm65.09
2) oil filter rm11.32
3) air filter rm30
4) spark plug rm40
5) throttle body cleaning and tuning rm80
6) front brake pad rm70
7) service rear brake rm20
8) wheel balancing rm20
9) wheel alignment rm15
10) adjust camber rm40
11) labour for service rm10

Total coming at approx RM401.4. Should be OK?
